The Project Chief JR will be responsible for assisting in the delivery and execution of projects with automotive OEMs. This role involves supporting the project team and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high quality standard.
ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Supporting technical program management for vehicle lines by working closely with design teams and other functional areas such as program management, engineering departments, and manufacturing.
• Assisting in ensuring that systems meet all functional and performance requirements, while also meeting cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality objectives.
• Collaborating with Manufacturing/Product Execution to define assembly and test operations, and conducting problem-solving activities during the pilot phase through launch.
• Providing support for concept studies, packaging, cost analysis, prototype procurement, supplier management, sourcing, tooling kickoff, validation, launch, program maintenance, change management, value optimization, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assisting in coordinating technical issue resolution related to engineering and quality at all stages of the program and across different functional areas.
Requirements
• 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience in program execution and project management, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Experience with an emphasis on automotive cooling and HVAC components at either an OEM or supplier is a PLUS
• Understanding of electric vehicle thermal systems and common vehicle system interactions.
• Desirable (not necessary) experience in component costing (variable cost and investment)
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer from a practical standpoint
• Understanding of electrical circuits, components, and their operating principles
• Experience/ Knowledge in DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) proactive and/or reactive quality tools
• Experience/ Knowledge on UG/NX, CAD systems
