Our client is a worldwide leader in the fabrication of specialty cables dedicated to supporting networking, computer and telecommunications providers with a broad range of electronic component solutions.Our client seeks an Accounting Manager with a strong statutory accounting, accounts payable and Mexico fiscal tax accounting background. This organization has a history of providing quality products, brands have a reputation for excellence that spans nearly half a century.The ideal candidate willlead and manage high speed connectors and cables businesses in a high technology environment and with new businesses introductions and aggressive growth. This position is based in Mexicali and reports to a Mexicali Campus Controller.
THE POSITION
The Accounting Manager is responsible for Accounting, payroll and fiscal accounting for multiple sites and multiple business units in a large campus:
Accounting:
- Massive & manual journal entry uploads during the month in AX Dynamics Microsoft systemfor P&L preparation.
- Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations vs Contpaq system (Statutory Accounting)
- Accounts payable process approval (weekly)
Payroll:
- Payroll review and approval
- Taxes withholding to employee’s verification.
- Departments approval set up in TRESS system.
- Review Payroll concepts for correct taxes set up.
- Xmas bonus calculation and withholding tax.
- Employee’s profit-sharing calculations and withholding tax.
- Employee’s savings account administration and distribution
- Employee’s Savings fund annual administration and distribution.
Fiscal (Statutory Accounting)
- Responsible for preparation and payment of Monthly Federal taxes prepayments
- Responsible for Social Security and Housing Fund Monthly and bimonthly payments.
- Responsible for preparation of State Payroll tax payments
- Annual Income tax return and tax payments.
- Annual Employee’s income tax return
- Annual Social Security Risk prime calculation.
- Calculation of Safe harbor option (2025 and future years)
THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
- Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish
- 5-10 years of experience in similar positions such as Accounting Manager or similarin the maquiladora industry.
- Sup[ervisory skills required.
- Strong background in general accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and Mexico tax accounting.
- Able to grow one level above this position to a Controller role in 3to 5 years.
- Experience with TRESS (or similar)and Contpaq required. ERP Microsoft AX Dynamics a plus
- Advanced EXCEL
- Ideal candidate candidate will be extremely detailed, disciplined, highly analytical, possess a strong work ethic, a team player, and able to meet strict deadlines.
Must have knowledge in all Mexico fiscal laws:
- Income Tax law
- Value Added Tax law (VAT).
- Social Security & Housing fund tax law
- Customs Law (import/export customs law)
- Mexico Labor law / Employment law
- State laws.
