Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead business initiatives regarding design, test and manufacturing technology, quality, and productivity.
- Identify and promote the development of improved processes related to design, analysis, manufacturing, quality, and productivity.
- Establish and monitor programs, plans and budgets to assure business needs are covered as well as customer satisfaction.
- Ensure employees receive the training and guidance needed to increase their responsibilities and technical contributions.
- Establish and communicate the work-group goals that meet the needs of the business.
- Provide leadership and administrative management and define roles and responsibilities of assigned personnel.
- Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning.
- Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling.
- Represent and promote department compliance activities.
- Maintain ample awareness of technical efforts within the work group to assure technical excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources and consistency of methods across programs.
- Assure communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the work group.
- Communicate technical, organizational, resource, and personnel issues to higher management.
- Ensure procedures are established and adhered to, maintaining high-quality engineering that conform to Engineering Standards, Design Practices, and applicable Operating Procedures.
- Implement engineering standards and specifications consistent with GE needs, policies, and practices.
- Provide leadership in furthering digitization process and programs.
- Provide an effective and efficient service for all assigned organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Aeronautical, mechanical, or related engineering/design bachelor’s degree.
- Experience on GE Aerospace aeroderivative engines externals configurations design (incl. Marine Module).
- Solid knowledge and proven technical experience of diverse GE Aerospace aeroderivative engines product lines (e.g., LM2500, LM6000 or LM2500 Marine)
- Proven solid technical contributions as it applies to scope of the team (MRB certification on externals configurations or marine module hardware is a plus).
- Experience on NPI, manufacturing and field support projects of GE Aerospace aeroderivative engines externals configurations hardware (incl. Marine Module).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes as they apply to scope of the team.
- Solid knowledge of GE Aerospace Engineering processes and standards.
- Prior experience as externals Configurations Engineering focal point for a GE Aerospace aeroderivative program.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience coordinating relevant projects with greater autonomy/ownership.
- Experience managing conflict and labor challenges.
- Experience managing competing priorities and multiple projects at the same time with effectiveness.
- Experience mentoring and developing others.
- Strategic thinking skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical design.
- Experience managing contractors.
- Experience auditing manufacturing processes as they apply to hardware and scope of the team.
- Experience interacting with GE Aerospace aeroderivative engines customers.
