General Description of the Role
Ensure efficient, effective and continuous supply of goods and services at competitive cost, quality and lead time through market research and competitive benchmarking, negotiations with suppliers and contract management, responsible for the procurement activities of Agave in Mexico with potential reapplication of effort across the region.
Mission/Objectives
The Procurement Manager mission is to:
- To provide distilleries with Agave from the best quality, at right time, in the required quantity and at best cost.
- Manage supply and cost of the main direct raw material for production such as agave and packaging material.
- Coordinate the integral evaluation of suppliers in the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Provides input to the development and implementation of global & local purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality and service for all categories.
- Conducts market analysis of agave category to include SWOT, Porter, & other models to assist in strategy development and ensure all Mexico markets are understood and well-represented in either global or local strategies.
- Negotiates best total value for all raw categories for on-going volume and innovation projects to include raw supplier selection, pricing model/formula, contract negotiation, and business award.
- Delivers year on year value on the cost of Agave via creativity, leveraging scale, new supplier introduction, threat of competition, and other procurement tools.
- Responsible for implementing & executing process to ensure supplier compliance with quality and contract language to include negotiation of repayment, refund, or incremental supply in case of non-compliance.
- Assists in the development of the quarterly budget to include Agave category forecasting, analysis of macroeconomics, and execution of cost savings projects through procurement best practices and innovation. Identifies and tracks risks and opportunities throughout budget year.
- Negotiates supplier contracts to protect supply, exclusivity, and confidentiality.
- Conducts supplier relationship management and conducts routine supplier performance reviews through KPIs, providing supplier feedback, and maintaining supplier scorecards.
- Conducts constant evaluation of external innovation for process improvement, product improvement, and limited-time-offer promotions. Brings innovation internally to Campari.
Key Relationships
Internal: SC Director, Procurement Director, Plant manager, Planning Manager, Logistic and Distribution Manger, Jr Buyer, HR and finance.
External: Government entities for regulation and raw suppliers.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Companies.
Education / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor degree on Administration, Economics, Industrial Ingineering or related field.
- Master's Degree in Administration with a Specialty in Supply Chain preferred
