Job Purpose and Impact

Food Solutions Business Mexico Controller will lead our accounting and finance strategy to ensure the financial reporting accurately reflects the business activities and follows accounting standards. Also, will be responsible to accurate control of accounts and records following policies by using broad knowledge of accounting principles and practices on food industry businesses. This professional will analyze financial reports and take appropriate actions to safeguard our organization's assets. In this role, the professional will be conducting complex process review and supporting process improvement initiatives to provide updates of key potential financial risks, and to ensure finance process effectiveness, compliance with regulations and policies. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply accounting techniques and standard practices to evaluate business processes and risks on financial reports. 
  • Manages material risks to the integrity of Cargill’s financial reporting under relevant internal (management purposes) and external (U.S. GAAP, IFRS and local statutory) authoritative guidance. 
  • Partners with all commercial and business functions to understand Cargill’s business processes, identify inherent risks to financial reporting and safeguarding assets, and implement appropriate financial controls. 
  • Understand and apply accounting concepts to new and/or transformed processes. 
  • Partner with the Controls and Process Improvement to craft and implement controlled processes. 
  • Monitors the operation of financial controls and leads proactive remediation efforts. 
  • Identify and support implementation of process simplification, standardization, and automatization of financial and risk reporting to improve effectiveness and efficiency. 
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff. 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) 
  • Four years of Work experience in similar roles 
  • Experience in related business and/or multinational companies  
  • Experience participating in moderately complex accounting activities across a country or multisite. 
  • Advanced English  

Preferred Qualification

  • Commodity position risk and commodity trading within a processing business.
