The Candidate: We are looking for an experienced and hands-on CFO who is well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from accounting and administration to broad investment and M&A operations to oversee and manage all current finance, accounting, fiscal, legal and administration duties of the company. The ideal candidate must have international experience leading financial and accounting operations at USD$50million+ companies or startups. We are looking for a hands-on leader who cannot only lead the finance function from a strategic perspective but is also experienced and passionate about building the finance, accounting, controlling, and administrative processes/functions from scratch to attain excellence. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organization will be under their command.

The Role: As our CFO you will be responsible for protecting Birdman’s revenues, profits, liquidity and safeguard an enviroment for the company to continue growing sustainably under different compliance normatives. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, administration, fiscal management, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. For all the operative geographies. As Birdman’s CFO, you will also be responsible for generating the overall financial strategy as well as will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company. You will lead the accounting, administration, IT and HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Protect and drive the company’s revenues, profits and liquidity.
  • Drive the company’s financial strategy, planning and operations towards excellence.
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations. Create a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting structure. Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure and manage relationships with banks, partners and investors to attain funding if necessary.
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting financial reports. For each operating country and as a consolidated version in compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Analyze discrepancies between actual results and budgets, identify root causes and coordinate with the operating departments to solve them.
  • Identify cost and expense reduction opportunities and coordinate with the operating departments to capitalize on them.
  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance proactively.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Define, redefine and manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Define, redefine and manage all administrative operations related to the Order-To Cash, Requisition-To-Payment, Treasury, Hiring and IT macroprocesses.
  • Generate and conduct internal control processes and policies to avoid malpractices, risks and losses.
  • Define and implement the company’s IT strategy to operate more efficiently, manage cyber risk, as well as to guide the company towards overall digitalization.
  • Ensure compliance with the law, company’s policies and financial guidelines.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Hire, develop, oversee and set targets for all accounting, finance, IT and HR personnel to build an all-star finance function.
  • Implement process automations systems.
  • Implement ERP systems.
  • Build and manage outsourced fiscal and accounting functions for the new geographies to be opened.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Accounting or Finance or similar at top school.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, controllership, corporate finance, or something similar.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years as a CFO or Head of Finance.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting, financial management, fiscal management, and administration functions.
  • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices. Including GAAP and IFRS.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis, controlling and forecasting.
  • Experience defining Order-To-Cash, Request-To-Payment, Registry-To-Report, Inventory, and Hiring macroprocesses, procedures, tasks and formats. For the correct execution of the accounting, financial and administrative function.
  • In depth knowledge of M&A, Financial Modeling and Valuations.
  • Experienced in C-Suite reporting and executive communication.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers and with a strategic ability.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and data analysis tools.
  • Proficient use of different ERP systems.
  • English Professional Proficiency.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience in a startup or building own company.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems.
  • Experience having worked for a Big 4 accounting firm.
