Responsibilities
The Opportunity
This position is within the Accounting Services Group (ASG) of PepsiCo NASS and reports through Plano, TX. This roll will prepare/process period journal entries and provide the related documentation that ensures the financial closure in order to provide reliable information to shareholders based in coporative polices from Pepsico.
Your Impact
As Cntrl & Rpt Accountant your responsibilities would consist of
  • Review and prepare/process period journal entries in accordance with month end close - example: IT cross charges, prepaid amortizations, accruals etc. Ensure all spending (capital and expense) and support complies with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and PepsiCo policies.
  • Provide accounting guidance to Project and Finance Managers. Review expense spend through project life cycle and contracts to make accounting recommendations as appropriate.
  • Query and perform financial statement analysis for period close.
  • Validate and prepare projects for release during Annual Operating Plan process and Out of Plan.
  • Perform project-related SOX controls for Capital Spend and Prepaid Expenses.
  • IT Project accounting maintenance - researching/reclassing misclassified data.
  • Adhoc project requests

Qualifications

  1. Education

English advanced: conversational & writing (on boarding & interaction in a Daily basis)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  1. Experience
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting/financial experience.
  • Strong accounting knowledge/ability to understand and reconcile financial data.
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and make decisions autonomously.
  • Effectively communicates and provides insights to cross functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes
  • Organized personality
  • Team player
  • Ability to manage stress and meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • Advocates for and embraces the use of new tools and techniques
