Cost Accountant Specialist / Residential

Under direct supervision, performs detailed cost accounting assignments requiring a basic knowledge of cost accounting theory and principles.
Assists with cost audits and the preparation and analysis of cost reports. Work is subject to general review and under the direction of senior cost accounting personnel. Reviews and analyzes journal vouchers, labor and material records, cost reports and the like. Assists higher level accountants in a variety of cost accounting assignments such as computing and distributing labor, material and overhead costs, analyzing inventory increases and decreases, departmental operating costs, and making accounting adjustments and entries

• Requires a bachelor's degree.
• Requires some knowledge of cost control systems and related cost accounting functions and includes the preparation of strategic recommendations to management.
• Requires basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
• Must have strong written and verbal skills.
• Requires ability to use Microsoft Office.
