ERM is seeking a motivated Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change Consultant, who is interested in participating on a variety of projects, to join our consulting firm in Mexico City. Description of role:
This role entails developing ERM’s services across a range of sectors and clients in NLAC working closely with ERM’s other energy and climate change, as well as sustainability technical community leaders in NLAC and more regionally.
The candidate will need to be a thought leader in promoting this technical community amongst various stakeholders in NLAC and more regionally (project developers and government agencies etc.) via participation in seminars, conferences and client events as well as connecting with other experts across ERM.
The candidate will work with ERM’s business development teams and leaders across Asia Pacific to maintain existing client relationships as well as grow new client portfolios in NLAC and more broadly resulting in the growth of ERM’s opportunity pipeline. This will require an individual with good communication skills, client/market understanding and proposal development skills.
Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Support the development of ERM's services in Low Carbon Economy Transition (LCET) area, and particularly in Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change practice in Northern Latin America and Caribbean (NLAC), in line with ERM purpose and values through:
  • Delivering tasks and specific deliverables or phases of work on projects in multiple countries across NLAC, under the supervision of a project manager.
  • Actively contributing to effective project teams through responsiveness to client and project manager requests and proactive suggestions for project delivery.
  • Develop consulting skills, obtain understanding of ERM practices, clients and products and services.
  • Support development of proposals, marketing, and business development activities.

Requirements:
  • Degree (master's is a plus) in a related field (business, finance, economics, sustainability, international development, climate change, public policy).
  • Relevant internship or work experience in sustainability, climate change (physical and transition risks), energy or related fields.
  • Climate change modelling (downscaling, statistical and/or dynamic models) is a plus.
  • Understanding of and interest in global sustainable development and climate change agenda and trends.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically, analyze and synthesize diverse information and data.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently, articulate issues and recommend solutions.
  • Strong team player, ability to work collaboratively and effectively with project teams based around the region.
  • Self-starter, pro-active, willing to take initiative.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, take accountability for own tasks.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural teams is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
