Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Customs lead.

What you’ll do:


Job responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure compliance to the Mexican and Intenational Laws
  • Manage the Inventory Control system in compliance with the ANNEX 24. Responsable of the Vastera system Health.
  • Review Import & Export manifests (also known as pedimentos) processed at Customs. Perform internal reviews , audit import and export manifests in order to identify / detect discrepancies or mistakes and request amendments as needed.
  • Support Eaton Cuautiitlan and Bussman with import and export transactions at customs ensuring the Import & Export documents are in compliance with Mexican and International regulations, record keeping, customs broker instructions, IMMEX management, PROSEC management, suppliers’ documents audit.
  • Fixed Assets Control to ensure compliance with Legal regulations
  • Control Scrap process until disposal
  • Support programs and projects to take advantage of Free Trade Agreements (including management of certificates of origin) and other duty-savings opportunities and operating efficiency.
  • Ensure the accuracy of certificates of origin to customers or NAFTA requirements.
  • Control governmental documents such as IMMEX program.
  • Control Sub-maquila material flow process.
  • Ensure the virtual transferences between Eaton – Suppliers /Customers are executed on time.
  • Ensure compliance of OEA certification. Coordinate activities in the plant to ensure compliance with OEA regulations
  • Freight Management. Create and deploy strategy to reduce and control freight spend.
  • Coordinate the import and export processes in regards to operation such as dealing with carriers, sea freight lines, airfreight lines, freight forwarders and brokers in order to gel materials in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy and compliance to law requirements.
  • Logistics Routes Optimization.
  • Implement cost out and cost avoidance projects related to logistics and Trade Compliance expenses
  • Review from a Customs stand point, the fixed assets identification.
  • Keep up records of Premium freights and pursuit the involved areas on minimize Premium Freight to Zero.
  • Provide full visibility of the Raw Material and Finished Goods while in transit.
  • Monitors trranportation channel selection and conducts performance reviews of carriers to support customer and plant requirements
  • Coaches others to understand the impact of missed transactions or noncompliance with fixed assets control in the plant
  • Support the plant to obtain permits and special customs programs.
  • Develop risk management strategies to avoid non-compliance and file compliance reports with regulatory bodies.
  • Develop Forecast and Profit Plan for Freight, Customs Expenses and Premium Freight.
  • Elaborate and Submit the INEGI and IMMEX reports

Qualifications:


  • Degree qualification in Foreign Trade, International Trade or related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Mexican and International customs trade law framework
  • Understanding Risk/Legal with the ability to research and comprehend issues relating to regional import regulations.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Must be proactive and results oriented
  • Working Knowledge of SAP and Vastera as a plus
  • Proficiency in Customs Law, Origin Laws, 24 Annex for IMMEX, Free Trade Agreements regulation knowledge.
  • Maquila Environment experience
  • Ability to communicate in the English language (90%) required."
