We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Consent Technical Lead to join our Data and Model Governance team and drive the implementation of privacy-enhancing technologies across Thomson Reuters.

As a Data Consent Technical Lead, you will collaborate closely with Business Functions and Product Teams to deploy solutions that safeguard Thomson Reuter’s data while enabling business growth. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage technology to support privacy by designing best practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

About the Role:

In these opportunities as Data Consent Technical Lead you will:  

  • Partner with Business Functions and Product Teams to understand their data processing activities and identify opportunities for implementing privacy-enhancing technologies.

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions to enhance data privacy and security, including encryption, anonymization, pseudonymization, and access controls.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on the selection, configuration, and deployment of privacy enhancing tools and technologies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy controls into software applications, platforms, and infrastructure in accordance with privacy by design principles.

  • Conduct technical assessments and evaluations of third-party solutions to ensure they meet privacy and security requirements.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends related to data privacy and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our privacy posture.


About You:
You’re a fit for the role of Data Consent Technical Lead if you meet all or most of these criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, cybersecurity, or related technical roles with a focus on privacy and data protection.

  • Strong understanding of privacy enhancing technologies and their application to support privacy by design best practices.

  • Understanding of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, as well as experience with database technologies and cloud platforms.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework) and completion of Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) or other relevant certifications, preferred.
