JOB TITLE: Demand Planning Executive

Role summary

We are looking for a Demand Planning Executive that will Support the business planning process via accurate sales information analysis and demand forecasting process to ensure company plan objectives are achieved.

Reports to: Demand Planning Sr Manager

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Operational:

  • Build the vital tools/models to support demand forecasting for monthly Demand Planning, annual Demand Planning and ad-hoc requests.
  • Provide accurate and timely volume performance analysis to facilitate demand forecasting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting as per the regional guidelines.
  • Handle forecasting process and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Coordinate local forecasting process, co build short and mid-term demand plan with Sales & Marketing team
  • Propose demand plan based on statistical analysis (considering market trends, customers vision, expected exceptional, guidelines issued from previous S&OP cycles)
  • Co-operate with the Product and Marketing teams to understand the product availability and coming Marketing activities
  • Consolidate the product-level forecasts from the sales teams
  • Provide transparency on product performance and reveal a trend towards lower or higher margin products for management team for fact-based decision making
  • Maintain demand plan to ensure cost effectiveness and to meet customer needs
  • Work with sales teams and supply chain management to improve forecast accuracy

  • Develop own managerial skills as identified and agreed in personal development plan.
  • Develop and coach the Team Leaders technical and managerial skills, supporting their career development.
  • Work with Marketing Functions to develop, train and coach the executive and managers, ensuring that there is a clear succession plan in place.
  • Exhibit leadership capabilities in engagement with key partners through behaviors and attitudes which are in line with the guiding principles.

Management Results:

  • Supervise resource utilization and ensure that resource allocation is being handled effectively enabling the team to meet agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Set clear annual performance objectives for direct reports and carry out performance reviews against the objectives as per the agreed schedule, ensuring that the team have clear direction and know what is expected of them.
  • Streamline demand forecast, ensure the synchroneity of the targets and forecast across all functions
  • Supervise actual sales performance against forecast, provide analysis and handle for remedial action.
  • Supervise the tracking up-take of project stocks from FGS and distributor warehouse against forecast.

Relationship Results:

  • Develop good working relationships with peers within Marketing functions and EM to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Build and maintain good relationships within department and intra-department to support implementation and smooth execution of demand forecasting within the S&OP process.

Innovation Results:

  • Identify and propose improvement opportunities in current process to enhance the effectiveness of the Demand Planning process within the organization.
  • Continuously strive to improve current tools and methodologies to improve forecasting results.

Experience, skills, knowledge

Experience Required

  • 4+ years of work experience in domain, senior partner management and project management in a large-scale organization
  • The jobholder should be:

  5. Manages pressure well
  6. Has credibility within domain
  7. Passion for developing managers and SMEs
  • Good commercial awareness and strong understanding of domain along with BAT strategy and business model
  • Excellent management, coaching and motivational skills are critical due to the number of staff within the departments.
  • Highly focused in data and documentation management
  • Writing, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills to a high standard and in fluent English (the working language).
  • Highly numerate with the ability to make decisions and judgements, the ability to work in a changing environment generating innovative ideas and creative solutions.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Hands-on experience in data toolsets, Demand Planning software and programs, statistics, forecast modeling.
  • Understanding of SC Planning tools: JDA (advanced) and SAP / SAP APO

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • A graduate in Engineering / Statistics / Econs / Maths / MBA or related
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with senior and other levels of staff in all departments and companies both within the Group and externally.
  • Good understanding of End-to-End Supply Chain Management
