AstraZeneca is currently looking for IT Dev Ops release Engineer to join our R&D IT Solution Delivery Team to manage and maintain our SaaMa product, that is GxP compliant, part of Clinical Development Platforms and is used across late science teams across all therapeutic areas. You will be a part of our BizDevOps team therefore will be responsible to work cross functionally with other team members such as Product Lead, DevOps Lead and technical engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

 The role of our ideal candidate will include but not limited to

  • Define Engineering Standards such as common coding standards and security standards.
  • Maintain the Core Tooling design and architecture for R&D IT OCD which is aligned to Enterprise and R&D IT OCD standards.
  • Create reusable artefacts wherever possible.
  • Build User Guides and Best-practice for Tool adoption and usage.
  • Work with product teams to provide full-lifecycle tooling guidance, reusable artefacts (such as Internal Actions).
  • Work with product teams including vendor teams, to implement DevOps tooling stack
  • Design/Create pipelines for Continuous monitoring, automated unit-testing, automated regression testing, Continuous integration, Continuous deployment.
  • Assist release manager in product release deliverables.
  • Lead cross-team process improvement, considering compliance constraints such as GxP.
  • Participate in continuous improvement discussions with the business and IT stakeholders as part of scrum team.
  • Responsible to solve day-to-day queries related to automation and usage of CI/CD pipeline.

Mandatory Skills

  • Advanced Knowledge in any of the scripting language(Java,J2EE, Python, Spring boot, Angular, Jquery, Unix)
  • Should have developed data pipelines in cloud and on-premise based applications.
  •  Excellent understanding of SQL and databases including MySQL, Redshift, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Should have deep understanding of AWS Cloud Formation, Github actions, Code Pipeline, Terraform scripts, Containerization techniques.
  • Ensures following IT Service Delivery Framework adhered on AD activities.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meets deadlines, and work independently.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Release Management practices and principles.
  • Experienced in both application development and automation through CI/CD, as well as being able to consult with teams on their adoption.
  • Solid CI/CD experience in GitHub & Github Actions implementation.
  • Experience in migration from Bitbucket + Jenkins to GitHub + Actions
  • Experience with CI CD tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Artifactory, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven etc).
  • Strong problem-solving skill.
  • Experience with process tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with people across the globe with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban and SAFe.

Preferred Skills

  • Full stack developer experience (incl. Java for SDKs)
  • Experience working in data lakes and ETL pipelines
  • ITIL practices (change management, incident and problem management and others)
  • Experience in GxP or SOx regulated environment.
  • Passion for learning, innovating and delivering valuable software to people.
  • Experience with dynamic dashboards (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Experience in integration of CI/CD processes into existing Change & Configuration Management scope (i.e. ServiceNow & Jira)
  • Worked in a global organization where stakeholders and project team members are geographically dispersed.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science or IT related discipline with relevant total of 6-8  years of experience in IT industry
