Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer in our Monterrey, Nuevo Leon location. 

As a DevOps Engineer in the Global Technology Services – Data Platforms organization, you will bring your talent, passion, energy and focus to work every day as an active contributor of our Global Data Platforms. You will work closely with engineering teams, Cloud Operations, and the Network Security organization to define, develop, and provision infrastructure to support next generation data platforms. The hired candidate will document network and service layout to show how the current and future needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, and agile manner.

What do you get to do in this position? 

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure state in AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks, such as Terraform, Ansible, and Cloud Formation.
  • Support the deployment of containers using the Kubernetes orchestration platform.
  • Enforce architectural design principles and best practices for data-intensive environments.
  • Assess impact and budget of proposed solutions and remediating design issues.
  • Evaluate tools and technologies proposed as part of end-to-end enterprise data solutions.
  • Collaborate with global project teams and regional departments to solve complex technology, security, or development problems.
  • Own implementation design with little to no supervision, managing your time and resources efficiently to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Contribute to the improvement of principles and guidelines enhancing the performance, scalability, flexibility, and capability needs of the platforms.

Qualifications

This job might be for you if: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management, or similar field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or an equivalent combination of application development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Cloud Native applications in AWS Cloud
  • Cloud certifications are a strong plus.
  • Experience deploying cloud-native applications using CI/CD tools, such as ADO, GitHub, or Jenkins.
  • Experience developing with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks, such as Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation.
  • Experience authoring, maintaining, and deploying Docker containers using Kubernetes, EKS, or ECS a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with identity management, federated authorization, and cloud infrastructure security.
  • Understands solutioning for observability, including log management, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Learns and adapts quickly to complex problems.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
