Title:Engine Performance Modeling - Monterrey

Primary Location: Mexico (MX) - Nuevo León JD Shared Svcs-Monterrey

Function: Engineering (CA)

Main Responsibilities:

  • At John Deere Power Systems as a Methods and Tools Analyst in Virtual Systems Analysis, you will develop, implement, and support analytical tools and processes that help improve efficiency and effectiveness of analysis activities. This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Advance Engine Performance simulation model architecture initiatives that enhance user experience, simulation model development efficiency, and reuse.

  • Support the evaluation of Engine Performance simulation model predictions against test data and implement improvements.

  • Develop and support the application of analysis tool sets (GUIs, scripts, report generation) to meet project needs from a process efficiency point of view by:

  • Understand stakeholder processes

  • Define implementation approach within tool sets that improve efficiency.

  • Review with stakeholders and analysis teammates.

  • Implement, validate, and review using a milestone-based approach.

  • Create appropriate documentation and train stakeholders on tool set.

  • Continue to support after the initial release as needed.

  • Solicit input/feedback from stakeholders and analysis team members.

  • Plan, prioritize, and track work using team project management tool.

What Skills You Need:

  • Working knowledge of combustion engines and aftertreatment systems.

  • Familiar with mathematical optimization, Monte Carlo, data analysis.

  • Computer programming and code debugging experience.

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Excellent communication skills.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience with GT-SUITE.

  • Knowledge of Matlab and/or Python programming.

  • Understanding of object-oriented programming.

Education:

  • BS degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Controls Engineering) or similar degree.
