The Product and Engineering Excellence team in R&D IT is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the discovery, design, delivery, adoption and running of our engineer-facing products and consumables.
You’ll be joining a team whose job it is to boost engineering productivity and developer experience. We work across a large engineering group so orientate our Products and Services to maximise their outcomes using an iterative Product Management approach.
You will own the discovery and roadmap which is designed to improve our engineers’ working days. These range from ‘consumables’ such as reusable GitHub Actions, through repository templates and plug-ins in Backstage, to engineering observability and scorecards. You will be empowered to own the entirety of the products’ lifecycle, and will be expected to work closely with engineering leaders and engineers in their formation and adoption.
- Main tasks:
Design, measure and respond to OKRs
Discovery and testing – user interviews, A/B testing, ride-alongs and other techniques
Define cross-product vision alongside the Team Lead
Design the products’ experience and behaviour
Define Acceptance Criteria and Definitions of Done
Actively promote and demo the products in order to maximise adoption and outcomes
Direct and collaborate with a co-located engineering team to build and maintain the products
Skills & Experience
Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
Experience as an Engineer
Experience with agile / devops best practices
Worked with iterative approaches to build and release
Useful Experience
Comfortable with Product Management tools such as Airfocus, Product Board, Aha!
Experience using design tools such as Figma
