Servomex, the world leader in gas analysis and part of the FTSE 250 Spectris Group, are seeking a committed Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will provide service and support for all Servomex Analysers and Systems. They will conduct service training for customers and Servomex employees, as well as provide technical support to customers and distributors throughout Benelux and Germany and occasionally the EAI region.

About the Opportunity:
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • Service, repair and commission all Servomex products to ensure that the Company’s reputation is maintained and enhanced through exceeding expectations and delighting customers.
  • Carry out FAT and SAT of systems.
  • Actively be involved with quoting service activities and pursuing potential business
  • Provide assistance with technical sales enquiries for Servomex products and help make our customers aware of the advantages of maintenance contracts.
  • Complete repair, service and commissioning reports and any other required documentation.
  • Ensure that Servomex equipment meets the relevant health and safety and local safety requirements and if not, ensure the customer accepts responsibility.
  • Communicate with relevant departments concerning problems with Servomex equipment and customer requirements using quality and customer complaint procedures.
  • Provide assistance with systems testing and build to the Systems Engineering department to ensure that systems meet the required performance and specification prior to shipment.
  • Participate in Customer Service improvement initiatives as required by the Service Manager.
  • Travel required including throughout Benelux & Germany wide and occasionally other European countries – flexibility will be required.
  • Participation in forecasting and service planning calls.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by the business.
About your Talent:
Essential skills and experience:
  • A proven track record of working within a Field Service Engineer (or closely related) position repairing instrumentation as well as installing and troubleshooting.
  • Strong Electronic and Instrumentation background.
  • Experienced in providing various levels of customer training.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with customers.
  • Experienced in working within the following industries - oil and gas, industrial gases, and/or Semi-Conductor.
  • Start up, commissioning, FAT, SAT.
  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Competent in MS Office suite and SAP.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Results oriented attitude.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in working remotely with minimum supervision – and willingness and motivation to do so.
  • Flexibility to travel within Germany and EMEAI region.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • Full clean driving licence.
Desirable skills and experience:
  • Solid business acumen and a willingness to learn about our products/technology.
  • System integration knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.
  • Another European language - German would be advantageous.
Essential qualifications:
  • Technical Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related subject/discipline.
Desirable qualifications:
  • Safety working training.
