1. Envision and implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility.
2. Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment.
3. Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements.
4. Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality.
5. Apply lean manufacturing principles in designing, specifying, and validating world-class manufacturing processes that achieve organizational goals.
6. Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments.
7. Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning.
8. Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives.
9. Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operational expenses within budget allowance, and investigate cost-reduction measures.
10. Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Knowledge of MS Office and the ability to learn and use new software applications.
- Skill in preparing and conducting effective presentations and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and members of the business community.
- Skill in assessing performance.
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities and cultures.
- Ability to travel to meetings and professional seminars.
- Ability to coordinate department activities, as well as those involving participation of other departments or facilities.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, reasoning, and time management skills
- Ability to demonstrate excellent writing and verbal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with many levels of employees, other company leaders, and customers.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field with 10 years experience in plant operations.
