Location
Our offices are located in Mexico City (Av. Corregidores 1515, Lomas de Chapultepec VII Secc, Miguel Hidalgo, 11000 Ciudad de México, CDMX), and are open to remote work for the right candidate or specific role.
We’ve got a hybrid work schedule, meaning 2 days per week you can WFA (work from anywhere).

Your mission as a Head of Finance
The Head of Finance plays a critical role in Solvento’s organization, responsible for all accounting, controlling, and reporting processes. He/she will be responsible for defining and measuring relevant KPIs, managing real-time data, and analysis of the company's financial status. He/She will also be accountable for building economic models, which will help the C Level (Leadership Team) make decisions based on different business outcomes/scenarios.
This role will distribute the financial resources of Solvento. In addition, the Head of Finance will be responsible for budget planning, while supporting the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for Solvento.
Role responsibilities
Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results.
Approve or reject budgets.
Evaluate and decide on investments.
Allocate resources and manage cash flows.
Conduct profit and cost analyses.
Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information.
Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.
Consult board members about funding options.
Recommend cost-reducing solutions
Develop strategies to maintain Solvento’s financial health and increase profitability in the long run.
Drive the financial planning of Solvento by analyzing its performance and risks.
Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to the Leadership Team, while recommending further courses of action.
Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Conduct analysis to make forecasts, sensitivity analysis and reports to upper executives.
Manage the preparation of Solvento’s budget, and work with other departments on developing theirs.
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results all other variables to compare the company’s actual performance to the budget.
Ensure adherence to financial policies and guidelines.
Conduct reviews for supplier contract negotiations.
Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives and design a framework for these to be met.
Skills and experience
We’re looking for a Head of Finance with:
Proven work experience as a Head of Finance, or similar role.
In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
Proficiency in accounting software.
Solid analytical and decision-making skills.
Leadership abilities.
Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
Previous experience implementing and managing an ERP system, such as Oracle’s Netsuite.
Advanced user of Excel.
Strong reporting and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principlesWorking knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
Previous experience working in Investment Banking, Private Equity or Consultancy environments.
Nice to have, but not essential
MSc/MA is a plus
Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
Experience in a high-growth environment such as in a (FinTech) startup or scaleup.
GSuite knowledge.
