Eaton’s ES AMER PCS PCD division is currently seeking a Ingeniero de Empaques.

What you’ll do:

FUNCION PRINCIPAL

Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness within Eaton's Packaging. analyze processes, identify waste, and implement solutions to streamline operations using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and drive continuous improvement initiatives. responsible for the entire lifecycle of a product's packaging, from design and development to testing and implementation.

FUNCIONES ESENCIALES

1.    Provide resources and continuous improvements to manufacturing processes.
2.    Correct and prevent manufacturing problems related to the process and productivity.
3.    Follow up, improve, and monitor metrics or capacity measures, such as Yield, Scrap, Productivity, Efficiency. Initiate, develop, and complete packaging designs for Eaton products.
4.    Create and maintain packaging specifications for both primary (the product itself) and secondary packaging (boxes, cartons).
5.    Perform cost-benefit analysis of new and existing packaging concepts.
6.    Identify new materials and processes that can improve packaging efficiency or reduce cost.
7.    Collaborate with vendors and Eaton facilities to troubleshoot packaging issues and implement improvements.
8.    Determine the man-load for the manufacturing lines and provide the equipment, machine and tools required on demand. 
9.    Design the manufacturing systems Lay-Out.
10.    Develop and implement programs to reduce costs and increase efficiency of productivity in the packaging areas.
11.    Monitor and implement quality standards based on EQS to ensure the certification of the norm.
12.    Analyze and evaluate capital cost metrics: Scrap, rework, etc.
13.    Design packaging instruction and develop new process in order to facilitate the work flow and support the goals achievement Perform an active participation in the Departmental Teams.
14.    Support the introduction of new production lines/products. Complete all required documents based on Prolaunch requirements.
15.    Develop capital projects appropiations.
16.    Update PFMEA tools and Control Plans with unusual conditions of the production process, as specified by the EQS.
17.    Maintain monthly updated of VSM, Standard Work and Error Proofing tools and other documentations requiered by our system of EBS.
18.    Follow up the Implementation of ECN’S (Engineering Change Notice) aplicable to their areas.

2.1 - Responsibilities related to Health, Safety and Environment (EHS): 

1. Execute 100% of monthly safety inspection, in coordination with MESH Coordinator. 
2. Assist to all EHS training assigned. 
3. Close the 80% of actions request for safety in their areas

Qualifications:

1.    Bachelor degree of Industrial, Electromechanical or Electrical Engineer or similar careers.
2.    Experience of 1-3 years in similar positions.
3.    Full Bilingual (English / Spanish).
4.    PC knowledge: Auto Cad, Access, Minitab, and Microsoft Office.
5.    Knowledge of Design Interpretation.
6.    Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and ISO9001.
7.    Knowledge of project management and problem-solving techniques.
8.    Competencies: Thinks and Acts Strategically, Gets Results Through Self and Others, Builds Organizational Capability), Demonstrates Eaton’s Leadership Style
