International Logistics Manager North Latam

Background & Purpose of the Job

The International LogisticsManager for North Latamwill lead a team of fortypeople responsible for boththe operational execution and strategic process improvements for all imports and exports forfifteen countries. This includes both Finished Goods and Non-Finished Goods for all the Unilever Business Units. The role will be based in the Mexico City and report to the VP Costumer Operation Head Mexico.

The key objective of this role is to ensure the successful planning, compliance, and execution of international shipmentsThis role will work closely with other regions and internal functions (Planning, Logistics, Procurement, Customer Service, UI, Legal, 3PL and 4PL) to unlock the efficient flow of goods between North Latam and both internal and external export customers. The International supply chain leads acts as the single point of contact or gatekeeper for the globe regarding new sourcing requests, assessing feasibility, establishing service level agreements (SLAs), and coordinating necessary setup. This roleleads the necessary activities to check compliance and manage operational execution for all new imports of finished goods and materials forNorth Latam.

This role act with sufficient autonomy, managing to support an international operation of more than $2.1Billion between export net sales value and cost of imports.

Among his responsibilities is the leadership and control of freight forwarders, documentation management providers, customs brokers, ocean and inland carriers, managing a budget aroundof100million in logistics spend and a complexity of 23K containers moved by year a cross region.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate achievement of the category KPIs in Customer Service, Inventory Levels, Waste, Cost Minimization through save to invest program.

  • Deliver 100% OTIF of Import/Export aligned with service level agreement closed with Planning team.

  • Provide support to the Innovation and growth plan in collaboration with the SC Innovation Planning Team

  • Manage new export sourcing requestsEstablish SLAsto ensure compliance by customers to SC procedures and policies (Working Capital, obsolescence, lead times, sourcing capabilities etc.)

  • Manage international trade & compliance activities including Harmonized SystemCodes classifications, health requirements, anti-narcotics, Free Trade Agreement requirements and payment duties according to locally regulations.

  • Drive continuous improvement & consistency of standardized processes for Import/Export for all countries and business unit

  • Facilitate the day-to-day operations with SC cross functional teams that ensure end to end service and provide visibility and tracking of exports and imports and report risks in the event of a supply chain disruption, also will be responsible for leading the resilience plans and connect with business locally.

  • Responsible for leading customs audits and informing the business if there is risk and impacts, in case of Tax audits just will be responsible for provide information.

  • This role is key contact for Global Procurement Team for review and give follow up all matters related annual bidding, compliance contract, performance of the carries and new launching annually tenders.

  • Responsible for the area's performance KPIs, also leading the action to guaranteeing of the delivery of target defined by the business.

  • Responsible for the preparation of the area's annual plan and compliance of the budget import/export aligned to reported in PnL by Country and Business Unit.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or related fields.

  • 10 or more years combined experience inSupply Chain; SC Planning preferred.

  • Clear demonstration of leadership, team commitment and influencing others

  • Proficiency using Excel, Access, PowerPoint and MS Project

The deal candidate will have:

  • Successfully led teams

  • Worked in SAP - APO & ECC and is APICScertified

  • Have strong communication skills with an ability to deliver complex information to a variety of audiences with impact.

  • Managed multiple projects and work through ambiguity.
