Responsibilities

The Opportunity:

Responsible for imports/exports and customs compliance tasks for site Mexicali. Support the company’s efforts in obtaining accurate supply of raw materials, spare parts, machinery in addition to samples and finished good exports. All of the above, with key focus on minimizing budget impacts as well as mitigating regulatory risk exposures.

This agenda is sustained by high interaction with Mexican and US customs brokers; domestic and international freights and effective government liaisons. Daily interactions with PMF and FLNA areas such as procurement, planning and R&D are also essential, as well as direct communication with FLNA/PMF suppliers, vendors and clients. Provide information to government entities related with Mexicali’s International Trade operations, follow up and execute operational and administrative tasks for this site, in order to guarantee the continuity of customs and fiscal benefits related with government programs and VAT certifications.

Support management decisions and improve projects to identify savings along Mexicali’s operations. Responsible leader of Mexico’s Finished Flavors, CAPEX and Spare Parts imports, guaranteeing the correct execution, on time operation and mitigating extra costs and regulatory risks.

This agenda is also sustained by the correct interaction with custom brokers, domestic and international freights, government liaisons, material suppliers, and PMF and Pepsico’s Internacional procurement, engineering, planning and manufacture teams.

Your Impact:

As International Trade Manager your scope would consist of

Guarantee business continuity by arranging all communications, logistics and compliance tasks for Finished Flavors, raw materials, packings, CAPEX, spare parts and sample imports, as well as machinery repairs, returns and replacements. Assure service and fill rate standards by coordinating the best export alternatives and scorecard monitoring for finished goods to US, LATAM, ASIA and EUROPE, minimizing manufacturer’s liability by effective compliance and communication. Coordinate an effective strategy to guarantee the accurate reconciliation report submition to the Mexican Tax Authority (SAT), in a monthly basis.

This allows the VAT Certification to be updated in regards of the imports, exports and exempted taxes information uploaded, avoiding extra risks and penalties. Coordinate the correct execution of fiscal credits and obligations due to VAT certification.

  • $ 4, 000, 000 USD in administration of fiscal credits per year.

Execute the necessary government lobbying, in order to obtain custom permits for IMMEX programs and Certified Company Registation, amongst others, assuring the compliance of International Trade regulations and minimizing financial and operative risks for PMF.Coordinate and execute compliance and operational requirements for all IMMEX certifications for PMF societies.

  • $ 92, 000, 000 MXN due administration of IMMEX program.

Guarantee the correct federal taxes payment by making sure that all imported goods are classified correctly, and that all the applicable International Trade agreements are being taken advantage of. Minimize risks of sanctions and penalties during governmental entities audits (such as SAT or CBP), by securing a comprehensive record keeping for all operations conducted by this site, including documentation such as, certificates of origin, export and import manifests, invoices, waybills, etc. Engage in the reduction of administrative, monetary and operative risks and impacts, generated by everyday interactions with governmental institutions, such as: SAT, Secretaría de Economía, SAGARPA, COFEPRIS and Secretaría de Energía.

Give immediate response to US Customs Border Protection and FDA Notice of action when needed. Coordinate and build information for brokers bidding process to ensure productivity in International Trade operations of PMF.

Qualifications

Experience

  

  • International trade and logistics, or similar background as educational degree.
  • Imports and export process and regulation trade experience.
  • International trade permits, legal and fiscal knowledge in terms of International Trade regulations.
  • International trade compliance knowledge such as FDA, IMMEX, PROSEC, ANEXO 31, International Laws, Customs Laws.
  • Knowledge in International Trade authorities audits including import/export process, tax compliance (IGI IVA, IEPS, DTA), International Trade restrictions, (UVA, NOMS, Certificados Fitosanitarios).
  • Knowledge in physical inspections for raw materials and fix assets of international government authorities.
  • International logistics knowledge such as ocean, air and land transportation, as well as INCOTERMS.
  • Quality & service processes knowledge.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • English as a must.
