We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Investment Restrictions Manager

 

Role Purpose 

AMGB has implemented a global target operating model around Investment Restrictions. This delivers global ownership and oversight, a central team of Investment Restrictions Experts and a strong governance framework within the Global Network Markets. 

The role is a member of the GSC in Mexico to near shore support the local Investment Restrictions team based in the US and is responsible for investment restriction interpretation, coding, approval, monitoring and uplifting activities. 

The role has specific focus on regulatory and investment compliance related tasks.

In addition, the role participates in change driven project work to support the implementation and maintenance of the target operating model on an ongoing basis.  

 

Principal accountabilities

Work in a team of Investment Restrictions specialists located within AMUS. The team is responsible for restrictions management including coding and testing of rules on Bloomberg AIM as well as pre- and post trade monitoring.

Participate in change driven project work to support the implementation and maintenance of the target operating model on an ongoing basis.

Support the development of a strong governance framework around Investment Restrictions on a global basis including the production of Management information (MI) , and the definition and maintenance of best practices.

Work closely with and provide expertise to key stakeholders from the business lines and functions within AM (e.g. Front Office, Product, Risk, Compliance, Data Management, IT).

Other ad hoc activities as required by the business

Foster client relationships at industry events

Other ad hoc activities as required by the business

Ensure quality and consistency of centrally managed Investment Restrictions especially with regards to coding and testing of rules.

Support the delivery of suitable MI and input for better STP processes to all business lines and functions affected (Risk, Compliance, Front Office, Product, Data, IT, etc.).

Drive the reinforcement of skills of the Investment Restrictions staff due to knowledge sharing and definition of best practices

Build a clear, easy to use best practice library on coding and testing of Investment Restrictions.

Deliver ongoing improvements with process driven solutions

Manage delivery of services to Asset Management FIM, SLA’s and continuity/DR modelling

The role requires an individual who is goal orientated, commercially minded, customer and results focused.

Proven ability to work accurately within tight timescales and interact well within a team environment.

Self starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and who can influence and motivate people around them.

Good written/verbal communication skills (English Language!).

Ability to clearly articulate concepts and issues, manage/interpret the deliverables, and translate theory into practical business solutions.

Detail oriented and able to prioritise multiple projects and/or tasks.

 

Experience

Ability to lead small focused projects

Good analytical skills with advanced MS suite (Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Visio) and data manipulation skills required

Confidence and track record in building solid working relationships with key stakeholders, securing project resources or priorities from them through persuasion and influence.

University graduate with more than 3 years of industry experience.

System skills: Bloomberg AIM welcome

Good knowledge of Investment Restrictions, more than 2 years of experience required.

Good knowledge of respective local and international regulatory requirements (US1940 Act, UCITS, AIFMD, CESR/10-788, etc.).

Good knowledge of fund contracts / IMAs, prospectuses and other relevant mandate specific documentation.

Track record of guidelines negotiation and practical rule translation, coding and testing.
