Business Data Analyst
This is a first-level Business Analyst role that will support the more senior consultant, project lead, or direct manager to analyze business / policy requirements, provide recommendations and support the translation of these into requirements to implement them throughout the project life cycle.
Ability to lead some of the activities on projects characterized as low complexity, simple change with some communications elements to them and small to moderate business impact.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Job Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities
- Conducts the impact analysis of business changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the impact to business process.
- Provides input and prepares the Product document(s) as required under the guidance of an experienced analyst / project lead.
- Understands customers objectives, processes and products in order to make recommendations.
- Acts as liaison between Business and IT, as assigned.
- Communicates effectively through different mediums at all levels.
- Extended Hours during Peak Periods / Shift Work, as required
- Regular Predictable Attendance
- Visibility in the Office, as required
- Provides review of data and reporting entered between two partially integrated systems.
- Supports with operational data quality reviews to ensure integrity of data
- Provides suggestions to manager and team members on process improvement
- Attention to detail
Additional Job Functions
Based on the need of the project, supports internal and external relationships with business partners and suppliers as required :
- Internal :
- IT, Project business analysts, project / program manager and business experts / stakeholders.
- External :
- Outsourcing partners, suppliers and consultants.
- Product and technology experts. Zurich customers (based on the need of the project)
Completes analysis in accordance and complies with related methodologies and policies, and makes recommendations :
- Zurich Project Management Framework, including all applicable components and supplements (e.g. Solution Delivery Life Cycle - for IT projects, Change Management, SCRUM).
- Zurich Risk Policy, section 10.11 Project Risk and ist appendices.
- Procurement policies.
- IT Infrastructure Library service management
- for IT projects and programs.

- Successful completion, with support, of business analysis tasks of projects.
- Selecting appropriate processes required to meet the project objectives.
- Determines an approach that can be adapted to meet requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate communication and engagement with stakeholders.
- Complying with requirements to meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Balancing the competing constraints of business need, services, technology and quality to produce the specified product, service or result with minimal change requests required.
- Support implementation of customer initiatives
- Provide status updates

- Model behaviours that demonstrate commitment to corporate values.
- Provide input into performance management discussions of project team members.
- Educate team members and business partners on area of technical expertise.
- Provide guidance and support for team members.

Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in Business, Insurance, Information Technology or related area

- Highly motivated independent worker
This role is temporary per 6 months
