Job Description


Design and analyze operational solutions for internal logistics projects, such as transportation of raw, sub assembly and finished goods optimization, layout modeling, process and methods analysis, cost containment for value stream chain, distribution capacity of material flow enhancement, shipment optimization, source and delivery information flow management. Lead in the implementation of lean logistics projects such as supermarket with Kanban cards to improve manufacturing plant service level (KPI). Improve material flow to reduce “down time” at the production lines. Work driven by the logistics failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) mindset.

The primary scope of this position is for products being transferred into Hermosillo plant.


Logistics (80%)

  • Coordinate logistics operations through supply chain, including arrival of raw material at plant up to shipment of final products to customer.
    • Scope: suppliers / sister plants - customs - receiving - warehouse - production line - shipping - customer)
  • Define and implement material supply process for production lines (Kanban, kitting, milkrun, etc).
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and take actions on deviation and improvements.
  • Ensure all material is supplied prior production starts.
    • Scope: raw material, supply items, bulk items, etc.
  • Implement space optimization and material flow improvements based in lean manufacturing tools.
  • Implement early detection solutions for material shortages and manage deviations.
  • Coordinate operations with logistics staff (Receiving – warehouse – shipping) to achieve logistics KPIs.
  • Communicate logistics KPIs results to plant.

Planning (20%)

  • Follow up customer orders to develop production plan, ensuring all resources are available.
  • Manage orders behavior as backlog, forecast, spike orders, etc. to ensure on time delivery to customer.
  • Keep close communication with BU planning and plant areas to manage requirements and deviations.
  • Review material availability parameters (as safety stock, lead time, min / max, etc) to manage stock availability.
  • Manage planning KPIs and present results and actions to plant and BU.

Qualifications


English fluent (advanced).

Systematic Problem Solving (8D,5 Why, Fishbone).

Failure Mode and Effect Analysis [FMEA].

Lean Logistics tools.

SAP logistic modules.

Self-driven and leadership.


Additional Information


Position requires hands on warehouse operations, this includes:

  • Transporting material using different equipment as jack pallets, carts, and pickers.
  • Loads handling.
  • Spend most of the day on warehouse areas walking / standing supporting and monitoring operations.
