JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

This position is responsible to serve as a key member of the Bendix finance and controlling team. Supervise accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, ledger maintenance, audit, treasury and payroll. Responsible for the compliance of the fiscal authorities’ requirements and audits for SAT, IMSS and INFONAVIT.  Provide information, reports and requirements to Bendix Corporate.

Essential Functions:

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department by establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
• Perform oversight role in local administration and internal controls for banking, account payables (Mexico entities), month and year end processes, treasury and cash flow, and general ledger.
• Legal representative on behalf of company before government authorities, as well as other public and private institutions such as the IMSS (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social) and banks.
• Responsible for Mexico Financial audit, Dictamen Fiscal, and Mexico Government requirements.
• Coordinate Monthly Inter-Company activities including reviewing journal entries and month end reports and support development of monthly income statement and manufacturing expense forecasts to be coordinated and interfaced with Group Accounting.
• Drive continuous improvement to general accounting activities to ensure compliance with governmental and organizational procedures and policies.  Implement automation and process improvements to reduce redundancy.

• Support Mexico Distribution facilities with budgeting controls, SIOP and MOP.
• Support Bendix Servicios facilities with budgeting controls, and MOP.
• Support Operations and Group Finance requests for Financial Data
• Support PSA activities and procedures with team members
• Performs all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise Accounting Team.  

Knowledge:

• General Account
• Budget preparation and forecast
• Mexican Taxes
• Cost accounting systems and techniques.
• Preparation Cash flow forecast
• Internal Control
• ERP system

Experience:

• Strong accounting experience with 7 years’ minimal experience
• Knowledge in Mexico Taxes, Mexican GAAP, and basic knowledge in USGAAP
• Experience in ERP System preferably SAP

• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Exceptional attention to detail; focus on error prevention.
• Strong Leadership potential – proven abilities and experience preferred.

• Bilingual
• Extensive computer skills required

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance or related discipline required, MBA or CPA preferred.
