The Manager Supply Chain Management will lead the development and implementation of the SCM strategy for the plant in Reynosa, Mexico, to facilitate the cost-effective flow of merchandise from suppliers to customers. This role will be responsible for Planning (Production, Supply/Demand Planning), Purchasing (MRP Controlling, Indirect Materials) as well as Logistics (Warehousing, Transportation). The Manager SCM leads the organization's purchasing activities to minimize purchasing costs without compromising quality and reliability of supply. In addition, this role is responsible for the optimization of the Logistics Management. The Manager SCM is the Business Partner to Sales to ensure customers' demands are properly managed and coverted into production planning and successful deliveries.

This position reports to the Plant Manager in Reynosa.

Core area of responsibility:

  • Overall responsible for the coordination and control of Supply Chain and processes related to raw material replenishment and finished product within the Plant
  • Expertise domain to support production planning and purchasing, as well as collaborating with functions of Logistics and Import-Export and Customs.
  • Consolidates material constraints status, sets priorities, and manages escalation
  • Works in close cooperation with Value Stream Managers to achieve the objectives related to delivery performance, inventories, and log costs
  • Consult with Sales organization on demand management and customer delivery
  • Perform material planning for suppliers and internal operational/production plans
  • Manage purchasing and forecasting activities
  • Assure the flawless material supply to the production
  • Monitor and consult with Global Procurement to ensure materials availability
  • Co-Responsible for Inventory management and Excess and Obsolete material elimination
  • Support for the development and maintenance of new processes and intercompany SLA's
  • Realize on time, qualitative and cost efficient deliveries to customers
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's overall supply strategy
  • Ensure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked and reported on as required for supply base management and improvement
  • Anticipate potential problems and risks, and generates ideas, insight and solutions to resolve potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions
  • Provide technicial expertise and advice to functional or operational areas managers to help them successfully deliveries
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve SCM constantly
  • Develop and build a culture of engagement at all levels of the business to provide a highly energized team which is flexible to meet the changing needs of the business
  • To work according of the I.M.S. (Integrated Management System) which includes ISO 9K, 18K, 14K, 27K, and 22301

Core technical skills:

  • Strong knowledge of production planning/purchasing management
  • Logistics / Export and import know-how
  • ERP/SAP skills (S4/Hana desirable)
  • Negotiations and communication capability
  • Ability to lead/participate in multinational project/working groups
  • Strong project manangement skills with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Record of driving operational excellence, implementing significant improvements resulting in cost reductions
  • Strong prioritization, process improvement, and project management experience
  • High energy, data driven, and results oriented
  • Excellent change management skills, hands-on and results oriented with a fearless approach to work

Eduacational / professional qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or related
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial and leadership experience in Supply Chain Management within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • English business fluency necessary
