The Market Research Analyst Industry Intelligence, will contribute to a mix of shorter industry-specific presentations and thought leadership documents providing deeper insight into the changing nature of various key industries in the Americas. The ability to present to and build relationships with vendors.

This is a part-time outsourced position based in IDC’s Mexico Office or remote from any approved Mexico’s location.

Market, buyer trends, and competitive analyses for the Americas’ technology ecosystem:

  • Technology trends
  • Enterprise user preferences & buying habits
  • Industry specific business models & practices
  • Delivery of compelling research reports, presentations and other content on trends and patterns in enterprise technology adoption trends, user requirements and buying habits, and technology personas within vertical sectors across the Americas using research templates.
  • Presenting research findings and market updates to program clients, vendors, and end users both remotely and in-person
  • Supporting client inquiries related to research reports and Americas industry technology developments
  • Working with IDC analysts in other regions by identifying and engaging on collaborative research efforts
  • Supporting consulting projects as needed with qualitative research
  • Validating market forecasts and related data models and/or developing custom quantitative inputs to consulting projects [possibly] 

This will include direct contributions as an intern, via primary and secondary research, data analysis and report writing on research produced using IDC methodologies and taxonomy. The individual will be expected to produce high quality, actionable written reports and presentations showing detailed research into industry-specific technology utilization.

  • Bachelor Degree in International Business, Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Communications, Journalism or English Literature.
  • Excellent English language writing skills are essential. The analyst will be responsible for producing high quality and insightful research reports. C1 certification is desirable. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong writing skills and formal/informal presentation skills in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese. The Analyst will be required to create and deliver presentations, to clients and potentially at public events. Verbal, written and quantitative analysis are hallmarks of a successful work at IDC.
  • 3 years of experience in areas such as Market Research, consulting, journalism, marketing, and/or IT vendors would be helpful.
  • Familiarity with North American and Latin American technology markets and economies
  • Ability to quickly synthesize data from various sources – interviews, surveys, secondary research, and other IDC research
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and delivering projects on time
  • A self-starter who can work independently yet has strong collaboration skills
  • This role is ideally located in IDC’s Mexico Office, although working in an approved remote Mexico’s location may be considered.
