Our products, present in a wide variety of fields, that contribute to improve the quality of life of millions of people.Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Project Leader acts as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager and is responsible to coordinate and plan local and global multi-disciplinary engineering activities to achieve the project goals. Responsible for making sure the technical team understands and fulfills the customer mechanical requirements on time, on budget and on spec.You will work directly with a comprehensive development team including mechanical design engineers, software developers, application / calibration engineers and fellow project managers to develop project specific solutions for driver assistance and/or automated driving technologies. Responsibilities:- Create and implement mechanical work packages according to project targets together with a cross-functional team for electric power steering (EPS) systems.- Responsible for risk management and support the project manager, including managing technical issues within the project scope.- Lead cross-functional teams as part of the project planning, monitoring and coordinate various disciplines (design, bench/vehicle test, CAE simulation, manufacturing, purchasing, etc.).- Assess and plan the technical requirements and estimate the effort in the scope of the project.- Establish, cultivate and maintain a positive customer relationship as a key technical contact for mechanical topics on customer project(s).- Responsible for the creation of design releases within the scope of the project ( Level Releases, Quality gates…)QualificationsRequired Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in technical project management or in leading project teams, project planning and monitoring.- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field: mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, industrial & systems engineering or equivalent.- Experience with vehicle mechanical systems and release procedures in automotive or related industry.- Ability to work with team members of other locations, disciplines or departments.- Strong oral and written communication skills (analysis and decision making) in a multi-cultural environment. Persuasiveness and ability to motivate. Diplomatic skills and assertiveness.- English: Advanced (Fluent) (Good written / verbal communication and presentation skills to discuss issues / solutions with team and external customer).Preferred Qualifications- Language: German (good written / verbal communication and presentation skills to discuss issues / solutions with team and external customer).- Knowledge of mechanical design, 2D drawings and 3D modelling.- Knowledge in product engineering processes and application to perform a systematical problem-solving methodology using the 8D method.
