Mine Engineer, Long Term Planning

At Rosebel Gold Mines N.V., we are currently seeking a dedicated Long Term Planning Engineer to join our Mine Technical Services department. As a Long Term Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for mine planning the activities over the life of mine in order to meet quantitative, qualitative and economic production objectives. Evaluating strategic planning to maximize the NPV. 
Your key responsibilities will include:

Developing the life of Mine:

• Update the long-term plans and schedules in line with the mine's approved strategy and resources.
• Develop the budget and target schedules for the mine and expenditures budget for the section.
• Compile reports and presentations showing the brownfields' potential around known deposits.
• Prepare inputs for the planning process.
• Pit mine optimization, pit, stocks, and waste dump designs.
• Requirement and replacement equipment.
• Equipment trade-off.
• OPEX and CAPEX preparation.
• Monitoring the mining production team's adherence to the mine perimeters and resource allocation.
• Compiling end of year reserves.
• Compile reports on a regular basis in line with internal and external reporting requirements.
• Develop the knowledge and skill set of the nationals in the team.
• Cultivate and maintain a high-performance safety and work culture.
• Oversee consultants on projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related degree.
• Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience in Long Term Mine Planning for Gold Open Pit.
• Must have extensive experience working in both long-term and short-Term Planning with MineSight, Talpac, Gems, Surpac, MineSched, Datamine, and Whittle software packages.
• Sound knowledge of AutoCAD as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint)
• The ability to resolve technical issues without external support; comprehensive / creative trouble shooting.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and written in English.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Willingness to work on a rotational FIFO schedule of 6 weeks on/ 3 weeks off,12 hours a day.
