Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and validate financial and risk models used by the Insurance Carrier
- Understand and apply Model Validation methodologies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Assess the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of model assumptions, inputs, and outputs
- Identify and report any deficiencies or limitations in the models and provide recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including actuaries, risk managers, and IT professionals, to ensure compliance and enhance model performance
- Prepare comprehensive Model Validation reports and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging practices in Model Validation
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Model Validation in the insurance or financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of Model Validation methodologies and best practices
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as Solvency II and NAIC
- Experience with statistical analysis tools, such as SAS, R, or Python
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects
