Based in Geneva, Eli Lilly (Suisse) SA focuses on commercial activities. We provide high-quality services and medications to Swiss healthcare professionals to address unmet medical needs.

To reinforce our Oncology Business Unit, we are looking for a National SalesManager & Therapeutic Advisor Oncology. 

The Challenge:

Your role encompasses leadership in sales of Oncology products. You will be responsible for the launch and growth of the Oncology portfolio in Switzerland. You will work in close cooperation with your marketing, market access and medical colleagues. The position is field based with regular interactions with the Geneva Office. 

The Key Objectives:

  • Lead the Oncology sales team and prepare the launch of the Oncology portfolio in Switzerland.
  • Develop the sales strategy, drive excellent sales execution for each product as well as build capabilities and access in various therapeutic areas.
  • Leverage existing networks and develop new relationships with external Key Opinion Leaders requiring a high degree of interpersonal and political skills to ensure internal and external stakeholder buy-in at the affiliate level.
  • Leadership: foster strong employee engagement, commitment, and motivation in a fast-changing and challenging business environment to ensure business success,
  • Tactics: ensure the right sales execution and the right level of key account management skills in the team.

Customer experience

  • Develop strategies and implementation plans to ensure customer experience is lived within the Oncology sales team 
  • Meeting management: commercial presence at major National and International meetings and congresses
  • Plans and Implements peer-to-peer education meetings along with cross-functional partners
  • Identifies Thought Leaders for Advisory Boards
  • Work in collaboration with Medical to develop speaker training if relevant to brand strategy
  • Seeks appropriate opportunities at Meetings and Congresses e.g. Symposia and Brand feedback thereby maximising the image of Lilly and its Brands
  • Keeps up to date with meeting technology, utilising live-polling & multi-channel initiatives if appropriate
  • Ensures all relevant compliance rules
  • Post meeting event amalgamation & interpretation of evaluation results. Creating feedback loop with brand team for design of future program.

Knowledge & expertise

  • Acquires and maintains required levels of knowledge disease state, product, competitor, patient and support material knowledge. It is not necessary to be the expert but should be a resource to both sales & marketing to provide the field perspective
  • Recognizes the importance of connecting Thought Leaders with other HCPs to share expertise and is used as a resource to facilitate this interaction
  • Contributes to the internal dissemination of disease management & product knowledge
  • Understands and has a comprehensive working relationship with Advocacy groups, professional organizations, and other key brand influencers.

Selling

  • Understands the selling process currently utilized by the Sales team, both strategic account management and value-based engagement
  • Is confident in being able to apply aspects of the selling model to their customer interactions.

Customer Interaction & Management

  • Uses appropriate techniques to gain access to customers and applies knowledge of external factors that influence them to appropriately position their allocated product(s)
  • Recognizes where major opportunities could impact across brand functions and communicates this to the Brand team
  • Maximizes the opportunity to engage Thought Leaders in the delivery of multi-channel communications.

Ethics & Compliance

  • Follows internal and external ethical and legal guidelines and adheres to all company compliance policies; promotes on-label use of Lilly Brands
  • Fulfils all compliance requirements for Thought Leader requests when required (IMA) Planning & Partnerships E Customer & project management.

Builds on National Business Strategy to create a Business Plan relevant to the Thought Leader program

  • Uses the Business Planning process to create a specific plan strategy for designated Thought Leaders
  • Effectively prioritises business opportunities by considering resources available
  • proficiently manages multiple projects delivering desired outcomes on time.

Build & Sustain Partnerships

  • Builds and maintains a strong network and rapport with Brand thought Leaders, Lilly personnel, and key influencers. Work in a truly cross functional way
  • Identifies opportunities to work closely with other functions and across networks (customers and colleagues) to achieve mutual goals
  • Continuously monitors external factors (e.g. National & local health care environment, stakeholder network, etc.) and incorporates relevant information into Future TL interactions and business plans.

Key competencies:

You hold a Science or Business degree or both; you have at least two-three years of progressively responsible management experience in sales, ideally in Oncology. You demonstrate a strong track record of sales successes, current and in-depth knowledge of therapeutic areas and trends. A strong existing network of relationships with Oncology Key Opinion Leaders and Health Care Providers is an asset. You have a proven ability to work with and build consensus among a wide range of partners, including affiliate, hub and international stakeholders. You have a proven ability to show leadership skills in challenging situations. You have strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills. You are humble; you inspire respect and trust in others. You are a team player working in a diverse multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment, pro-active with respect to informing and consulting with other stakeholders. You continually demonstrate Lilly’s core values of excellence, integrity, and respect for people. You have very good organizational skills. You can prioritize and work under pressure and to meet tight and competing deadlines. You are fluent in German, French and English.
