About the Role
The North America Inventory Controls Lead is responsible for the execution of Inventory Controls and handling various inventory management tasks for the North America Distribution Center and other operational locations in the USA.
The North America Inventory Controls Lead will work with the 3rd party warehouse operator to ensure cycle counts are performed and is responsible to ensure all inventory control processes are followed. The job role will provide functional guidance to specialists in Global or North America Distribution to perform manual inventory adjustments, move inventory manually between storage locations, restrict or unblock inventory items. The job includes supervision of inbound in transit inventory to enable seamless goods receipt at the warehouse. They will maintain material master data accuracy for North America distribution operations.
The successful candidate experienced in inventory management and controls, proficient in related SAP transactions and can use SAP and other data sources to report on inventory.
The position coordinates a team of 1-3 employees in Mexico. This is not a people manager role.
What You Will Do
- Monitor inbound inventory to Distribution (goods in transit), ensure automated IBDN generation is functional. Address and solve receiving errors, create inbound cargo claims as needed. Collaborate with inbound 4PL and freight forwarders to ensure real-time visibility.
- Monitor returns to Distribution, address issues internally as needed.
- Perform manual inventory movements to move inventory between restricted / special use locations. Lead scrap related activities.
- Collaborate with Quality and ensure known quality issues are prevented to flow to customers.
- Supervise / execute Inventory Controls processes. Ensure 3rd party warehouse operator’s system and Harman’s SAP are reconciled, all deviations are analyzed and closed. Support internal and external inventory audits.
- Supervise cycle count activity of the 3PL, and support physical inventory counts in the region.
- Report on North America Distribution inventory
- Maintain material master data availability and accuracy to ensure distribution operations can be performed.
- Support virtual inventory transactions in case of supplier direct shipments to US destinations.
- Support inventory management at R&D locations in the US
- KPIs: inventory accuracy, restricted inventory, dock-to-stock cycle time, audit performance
What You Need
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the areas of physical Inventory Controls, inventory management.
- Detail oriented mindset, accurate and efficient in office work
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Possess a can-do attitude and an owner mindset
- Must possess excellent computer skills (MS Excel, SAP).
