About You and this Role

Our R&D department is looking for a R&D Pilot Plant Technologist to join our Polyurethanes Process R&D team in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.  

In this role, you will provide technical support to scientists in the preparation and execution of experimental activities and studies. Act as primary focal point for technical support of a process, product, or application within the work group and occasionally for internal clients and external customers. Provide technical support for product or process research, product development, and/or technical service.

Your primary responsibility will be the development of process technology and products for the PU markets together with the R&D team. 

 In this role, you will develop full proficiency in a range of technical processes and procedures through job-related training and on-the-job experience. It is your responsibility to provide solutions to operational problems using established procedures and practices. Your performance impacts the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of your own work and your team’s work.  


Responsibilities

  • You develop and implement experimental plans and acts responsible for a wide variety of complex Pilot Plant tasks requiring complex approaches and procedures with little or no supervision.
  • You apply technical proficiency to lead safe and efficient operation of assigned Pilot Plant areas and ensures Life Critical Standards are applied when required. 
  • You lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve process related deviations and problems; impact the team's results through effectiveness of own work and helps facilitate Root Cause Investigations, if needed. 
  • You identify the need for and is involved in implementing new processes, procedures, or technology to improve performance of work group; sets scope for projects and takes the lead in small projects. 
  • You lead and/or direct process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.
  • You understand the group objectives and the business’ value creating strategy and is an important contributor to the technical solutions that result in project and team success. 


Qualifications 
 

  • You have minimum a vocational degree (MBO4 level) or Associate Degree.
  • You have minimum 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and aknowledgeable in English.
