Your role

• Manage, coordinate, and implement all elements of the Symrise Process Safety Management (PSM) program in addition to any requirements specific to the location.

• Schedule, lead and document the PHA/HAZOP evaluations for new and existing processes.

• Perform Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to determine if the risk of an incident scenario is low enough to meet company requirements.

• Coordinate and schedule internal and external compliance review audits with governmental agencies or third-party personnel and maintain proactive and positive relations with regulatory agencies, trade organizations, and community stakeholders as applicable.

• Develop, implement, and provide Process Safety training and monitor compliance with training requirements.

• Perform technical reviews of proposed new projects and process changes to identify and communicate any PSM ramifications.

• Report on status of Process Safety incidents to management, lead investigations related to these incidents, and coordinate development of corrective actions based upon investigations.

• Provide oversight of the Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) process.

• Perform routine monitoring of documentation to ensure compliance with Symrise Process Safety requirements, including written procedures, Process safety information (PSI), and closure of PHA/HAZOP and audit action items.

• Other duties as assigned.

About you

• Experience: 2+ years in Process Safety in a chemical environment.

• Engineer degree in Mechanical, Chemist or similar

• English C1

• Ability to build business partnerships across and between functional groups and lead a project or technical team.

• High energy and passion for excellence, bias for action, adaptability, and resilience.

• Requires strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work independently, multi-task, follow through, and meet deadlines.

• Requires strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

• Some international travel will be required between global Symrise locations.
