GM Financial International Operations conducts business in Latin America and China. International Operations offers a wide range of wholesale and retail automotive financing products to dealers and their customers. The strength of the international business lies in its ability to tailor its products to meet unique dealer needs, consumer preferences and national requirements in local markets. Latin American country operations include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

The Product Owner is responsible for providing analytical support to the product and business areas assigned. Functions include daily product support for review, gather market requirements and recommend technical approach and solutions to the Product Manager. Perform analysis, design, project estimation and systems administration. The Product Owner directs and coordinates the product development and serves as a collaborative liaison between the Product Management and Product Delivery teams by defining, prioritizing and evaluating work. This individual will maintain the product/team backlog, leading backlog prioritization of initiatives, aligning experiences across channels and touch points to ensure the best business results.

 

Location: Monterrey, NL

Fixed term: 5 Months

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fluent in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese (desired)
  • Knowledge and experience of vehicle retail and insurance finance business or related finance industry (desired).
  • Knowledge in the implementation of IT projects (Finance business or related finance industry).
  • Proven expertise of Agile Framework and Scrum Methodologies
  • Ability to interpret business rules and customer requirements for the purpose of creating system and process documentation, program specifications and project specifications.
  • Working knowledge of the Agile/SAFe Lean enterprise concepts and best practices and how they are applied in the workplace.
  • Thorough understanding of Vision/Roadmap creation, Portfolio/Program/Team Backlog creation, refinement, and prioritization.
  • Ability to effectively define product roadmaps, identify and proper documentation of requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and follow-up skills with the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex issues and clearly identify and communicate the situation at a high level.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Exceptional behavioral data-collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assemble and interpret data, create executive summaries and deliver business insights based on product performance metrics, benchmarking or applicable data sources.
  • Strong technical and analytical mind and background.
  • Oral, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate to individuals and groups effortlessly.
  • Time management skills.
  • Definition and management of user stories, acceptance criteria, product features specification, MVP delivery, backlog prioritization, and participation in project development routines/ceremonies.
  • Plan, organize and direct the implementation and/or development of products in accordance with strategic business plans or related projects.
  • Interface with customers and business stakeholders to provide issue resolution for products and processes.
  • Work in close partnership with Product Manager, applying a customer-centric mindset along with design thinking tools to deliver solutions that are desirable, viable, feasible and sustainable.
  • Explore continually customers’ (internal or external) wants, needs, problems and preferences of the products, services, systems, APIs, and platforms consumed by them.
  • Identify the problem, needs and preference that are worth solving always looking to maximize customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Understand market rhythms, events, sudden opportunities, competitive threats and changing regulations and their influence in the product roadmap and strategy.
  • Engage with Product Manager to analyze market research and understand the business drivers that trigger feature requests.
  • In collaboration with Product Manager and IT, guide the sequencing of the features that generate the highest value for the customers and GMF through the understanding of which problems need to be solved, which solutions would best solve them and the feasibility of delivering those solutions.
  • Business rules interpretation for functional and technical requirements, system designs and documentation for business solutions.
  • Establish shared understanding of customer's needs before moving to problem solving.
  • Work with the Agile or Hybrid teams to craft high quality customer-centric user stories that exceed customer expectations.
  • Work closely with internal business units to facilitate project completion.
  • Provide Quality Assurance Testing for production implementation.
  • Drive product assessments and requirements based on product performance metrics.
  • Perform other duties or special project as assigned/required.
