We are searching for the best talent for Purchasing Manager to be in Ciudad Juarez.

The Purchasing Leaderis responsible to Lead and Coordinate all Raw Materials Procurement Activities (Planning / Buying).

Main Responsibilities include

  • Achieving Raw Materials fulfillment targets, developing & implementing world-class inventory
  • Develop and communicate to suppliers, component requirement plans, events,and exceptions to support the detailed production plan and master production schedule.
  • Responsible for setting and monitoring inventory targets and establishing processes to ensure targets are met.
  • Responsible for BWI manufacturing facility’s raw material procurement and material flow activity; to include MRO products as assigned
  • Support J&J Purchasing Policies and Practices and Process Improvements.
  • Responsible for Inventory Replenishment Systems are developed and working effectively; systems should flag risk and support mitigation of line downs and customer service issues.
  • Responsible for on time delivery and / or inventory target adherence for assigned Business Unit material
  • Responsible for Supplier Component Recovery Planning and Communication including potential component / supplier capacity issues.
  • Responsible for continuity of component supply through the establishment of supply chain processes, metrics, and systems that will optimize supplier requirements signal and ensure consistent flow of material in support of business unit schedules.
  • Responsible to identify, communicate, and drive corrective actions for actual or potential disruptions due to supplier capacity, quality, obsolescence, or events at suppliers
  • Responsible for executing slow moving and obsolescence work processes to include DIF management
  • Drive the resolution and inventory returns / credits asneeded for component non-conformances.
  • Responsible for adhering to raw material targets and providing root cause and corrective actions to mitigate dollars above target
  • Lead Projects to improve material flow, optimize inventory and remove non-value activities
  • Responsible for demand & inventory management systems are maintained & continuously improved to achieve state-of-the-art business process technology
  • Know & follow company policies & procedures & assure that direct reports know & follow policies & procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility.
  • TRAINING : Complete training in area of responsibility & assure that direct reports are trained in area of responsibility within allowed time-period.

Training is required for changes in existing policies & procedures, for new assignments & for implementation of new policies & procedures.

Complete required periodic re-training & assure that required periodic re-training takes place for direct reports in areas such as safety & environmental.

SAFETY : Set standards for safe behavior. Recognize & reward safe behavior in others. Ensure that direct reports employ safe practices.

Enforce safety policies & procedures. Evaluate staff member’s safety performance & ensurethat safety is a part of each direct report’s GPMS.

  • Provide leadership for Purchasing team members in developing & completing objectives.
  • Mentor & coach department associates on career development.
  • Provide performance feedback to direct reports on a quarterly basis or more frequently if required.
  • Ensuredepartment associates’ skills are in place to meet enterprise needs.
  • Reduce obsolescence excess & slow-movingmaterial exposure by direct interface with engineering, materials, manufacturing, marketing & finance in the release of new products & phase-out of old products.
  • Facilitate deployment and maintenance of lean scheduling process to establish parameters, inventory targets, and continuous improvement to support customer service, inventory,and cost targets.
  • Define, develop & maintain, with the aid of on-line systems, lead-times, backorders & back log management.
  • Ensure demand & inventory management systems are maintained & continuously improved to achieve state-of-the-art business process technology.
  • Support ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9000 activities
  • Follow J&J and Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices, Records Cleanout, achieving customer demand fulfillment targets, developing & implementing world-class inventory.
  • Management practices & standards.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications

  • Business or Engineering degree (operations, business, logistics, systems)
  • MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 years materials function experience
  • 3 years in at least one of the following disciplines : materials planning, master scheduling; inventory management, demand management
  • 3 years management experience preferred
