Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Material Planner executes part of the core Planning Processes, ordering all necessary materials to support the finished goods plan, utilizing standard operating procedures set in the global Planning Playbook.
The Material Planner sends net requirements (orders, forecast) to vendors with the appropriate lead time, identifies and action material shortages or out of control, complying with the min/max inventory strategy to adhere to the customer service and inventory targets.

Reviews and validate key master data fields on regular basis, also changing material master to reflect obsolescence and routing materials for scrap. The Material Planner facilitates ongoing vendor meetings, suggesting changes to the SLAs through procurement and notifying procurement when violations of the SLAs occur, Provides inputs to the S&OP processes via the Control tower & Step 3, communicating with Finished Goods planners and Production Scheduler as appropriate.

Is accountable for associated KPI performance by their respective cut, e.g. inventory composition, projected number of SKUs below min / above max, material out of stock affecting Production Scheduling, transaction data and material data exception, providing root cause analysis as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute Core Planning Process
  • Order all necessary components/Raw Materials to support the MPS plan utilizing the standard operating procedures defined by the global playbook
  • Comply with the min/max inventory strategy to adhere to the customer service and inventory targets as defined by the Supply Interface
  • Ensure material availability and adherence to frozen schedule
  • Master Data ownership/compliance to facilitate planning by exception
  • Manage and minimize obsolescence
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders
  • Manage working relationship with vendors to ensure undisrupted flow of components/Raw Materials
  • Inform supply planning counterparts of potential supply risks
  • Collaborate with Procurement on vendor SLA performance
  • Escalate supply and inventory risk to MP Manager/Lead for resolution
  • Process Improvement and On-boarding
  • Identify and escalate process improvement opportunities to the MP Mgr/Lead
  • Support the onboarding process of new planners as directed by the MP Mgr/Lead
  • Reporting and Data Input
  • Provide input to the PM Mgr/Lead for KPI reporting
Qualifications

DESIRED SKILL REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE
Background and Technical skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred engineering
  • Planning skills: at least 2 years’ experience on planning processes,
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
  • Ability to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees.
  • Pro-active, persuasive and flexible attitude
  • Good english level
