Responsibilities

The Opportunity

This role will be responsible for supporting formula development and validation at benchtop level for beverages, requiring coordination with PD’s and cross functional R&D partners including, quality assurance,sensory, regulatory affairs and commercialization engineering.  This role will provide Support for innovation, TBS (Technical Brand Stewardship) and Productivity projects for LATAM beverages.

Your Impact

As R&D Associate Analyst your functions would consist of:

  • Execute relevant bench top applications, including prototypes, formula, specifications generation and related validation procedures in alignment with PEP R&D protocols and best practices to ensure safe, stable, and legal formulations
  • Meet success criteria assigned to each project including metrics on time, quality and performance as per aligned in AOP and Global Innovation Brief.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities, raw materials and laboratory supplies inventories up to date, to maintain the working area, shelf life chambers and storage rooms in order and free of expired samples and materials.
  • Generate PO’s in SAP and follow up the PO until Goods Receipt entrance.
  • Assist laboratory site management activities, maintenance and calibration program of analytical equipment.
  • Maintain safe environment and alignment with Laboratory Safety policies and to declare any accident or violation to the safety program.
  • Suppport new material / supplier qualification process following PepsiCo protocols.
    • Perform physical chemical analysis of samples and collect information of commercial products and fill out competitive analysis templates
  • Support site management: bench & wetlab; being responslible for lab supplies procurement and maintenance & calibration of measurement equipments
  • Provide technical support to operate and coordinate maintenance of the pilot pasteurization unit.
Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in one of the following areas - Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or any related technical area.

Professional Experience

  • R&D experience: Not required; some experience working within a lab facility a plus
  • Functional experience: Experience Product Development experience a plus

Skills:

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish a must
  • Basic Project Management Skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment
  • Cultural sensitivity / flexibility in responding to different cultures;
  • Result oriented and able to balance competing priorities without losing momentum and managing uncertainties
  • Self-starter and proactive

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and to participate on execution plans to get alignment.
  • Curiosity for learning
  • Good communincation skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Languages

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish a must
