Main Job Purpose
Ice cream is one of the largest categories in Unilever with global multibillion-dollar brands such as Walls,
Magnum & Ben & Jerry’s and many regional and local brands. The ice cream category ambition is to be a true happiness company that will delight consumers, customers and the planet with products that are better for you and better for the planet.

In LATAM, Ice cream is a business of around 650Mio Euros with strong global brands also local/regional brands like Cremossisimo, Fruttare, Mordisko, Polito, Tablito and so on.
The R&DFormula manager plays critical role inleading, developing, implementing and activatingIce Cream innovations and renovations in the local market, according to the highest quality standard and in compliance with local legislation.
He/She must guarantee quality design and end to end governance and strategy, delivering superior products experiences anddriving simplification.
In addition, R&D Formula manager is the business partner to the Supply chain team to guarantee optimization of current portfolio, quality plan, waste agenda and support the resilience plan.
Leadership of Ice cream R&D Formula team which includes product development and integration with all R&D capabilities as packaging, CTI, Diet & health, processing.
Key Accountabilities
Driving product innovation and renovation agenda, bringing new technologies and consumer insights to build innovation roadmap
Technical support for implementation of product innovations and renovation activities
Develop and lead the Product Improvement agenda, key to deliver superior product to support the Core SKU´s (TOP 10/Happy products).
Driving the creation and implementation of demos, claims and KBS (Knowledge Based Selling) materials.
Lead sustainability agenda connected with packaging and ingredientsinitiatives.
Technical R&D support and input to cross category corporate initiatives such as Unilever sustainable Living Plan and others.
Active role in quality improvement initiatives
Delivery and maintenance of product specifications, including the technical, legal and nutrition information
Drive Materials saving agenda (product logic and alternative suppliers)and Simplification Agendafor her/his platform
Deliver the business continuity needs approving alternative suppliers and materials.
Support the resilience needs for ingredients and final product. Support SC Network transformation projects.
Competitor monitoring/benchmarking and trends evaluation, sharing any insights with the local marketing team
Creation and approval of product declarations compliant to food/ice law in collaboration
with Regulatory and Legal Department
Ensuring technical support for product-related communication and advertising in collaboration with Nutrition, Regulatory and Legal Departments
Drive agenda of Trainings: Careline, Customer Development and Brand Building regarding all technical aspects of the product portfolio and information about new products to be launched
Support and collaboration in case of official complaints, legal actions and competitor challenges
Artwork approval as part of product compliance
Support the Digital and Ecosystem agenda
Required Experience
Science or Engineering Degree
Experience in technical management specializing in product formulation/processing/packaging/project leadership and/or research in the consumer package goods industry.
Good understanding of the Foods, Snacking & Ice Cream categories and key players internally andexternally.
Management skills in a matrix organization incl. interface management
