Job Description

We are seeking a regional Business Development Manager to join our team in the Americas, covering the LATAM region. The position will play a pivotal role in driving our growth and market expansion. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that strengthen our presence, build key partnerships, and drive revenue within the Latin America (LATAM) practice.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional who can navigate the complexities of LATAM business landscapes, forge strong relationships, and lead a team to success. This is an opportunity for an individual to grow and develop in an exciting and varied role in a fast-moving, high-profile part of the business.

The role will report to the Senior Business Development Director in the United States and work closely with the wider Marketing & Business Development team, as well as LATAM Partners and other immigration and corporate professionals. Globally, the Marketing and Business Development function is made up of nearly 50 professionals covering the full range of strategic marketing, client & Business Development and communications to drive revenues, increase firm visibility and promote exceptional client service.

How you will make a difference as a Business Development Manager:

            Main responsibilities:

  • Identify potential business opportunities with new and existing clients through client targeting
  • Drive client teams and assist with research, support, and actions for the Client Care Program
  • Work with broader team on effective client focus and retention strategies
  • Develop the Business Development plans to support organizational objectives for  the LATAM region
  • Collaborate with client teams throughout the onboarding process to ensure delivery of agreed upon deliverables
  • Identify external profile-raising opportunities and tactics for promotion and follow-up
  • Develop the pitch, presentation and business review strategy and documents
  • Lead, develop and maintain relationship with strategic alliances
  • Lead Business Development activities for named strategic partners and identify business growth opportunities
  • Conduct market research and track industry, client and competitor news and information

Additional responsibilities:

  • Coordinate actions with the Marketing & Business Development team to strengthen the brand in the LATAM region.
  • Monitor the competitors’ activities, including M&A, news, trends and key contacts
  • Work with wider team to prepare partners and other client-facing teams for pitch presentations, business reviews and other presentations
  • Track and maintain live opportunities in our CRM system
  • Coordinate post-RFP debrief and feedback sessions, as appropriate, to inform future strategy
  • Strategize with the events team to identify key clients and targets for virtual and in-person events
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the region and the wider firm
  • Work with colleagues across the region to identify and promote opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Provide support on client-centered activities related to diversity, equity & inclusion
  • Provide additional support to the broader Marketing and Business Development department, as needed

Let’s talk if you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a business environment, preferably with a background from legal or professional services industry in a Business Development role
  • Knowledge of Latin America and Caribbean Region
  • Spanish native speaker
  • Portuguese proficiency (speaking, reading, writing) is required
  • English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing) is required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills for drafting concise and polished communications to senior level stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, resourceful, with excellent grammatical and proofreading skills and a high attention to detail
  • Proven record of dealing with and influencing senior stakeholders, poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
  • Can-do and proactive attitude
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Salesforce, InterAction or another CRM preferred
  • Ability to prioritize workload and pivot, as necessary, in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team
