About the Role:Research Analyst- Global Coal
The Team:
The Global Coal Markets Research Analyst is a key member of the Global Power and Renewables team in S&P Commodity Insights. The coal team interacts with many other groups such as natural gas/LNG and power, and will be responsible for producing research and analysis focused on coal markets but also as an input into broader energy transition outputs within the larger team.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Maintain and improve database resources for both US and Global Coal markets.
Organize, create, and interpret data into graphical representations that are included in published reports.
Generate timely in-house insights and write-ups on market dynamics, policy releases and industry trends, with collective analysis from the broader team.
Work closely with colleagues for the accurate and timely delivery of regular client-facing publications as well as to address potential related questions from clients.

What We’re Looking For:Basic Required Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in economics, public policy, business analytics, business administration, science, engineering or other qualified fields.
A strong interest in the energy sector. Full-time work experience in a relevant field is a plus.
Team player with keen attention to news and changes.
Excellent writing skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint, as well as strong data management skills with proficiency in Excel
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Strong database, programming and visualization skills such as Power BI is a plus.
Full-time work experience in a relevant field is a plus.
A graduate degree is preferred.
