WHAT WE OFFER

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify new prospects, manage the customer relationships and work across countries to satisfy the customer demand.
  • Define a local Sales Strategy and mid-term forecast based on the specific market landscape.
  • Achieve sales plan and core volume growth of TPU products.
  • Develop and follow up on sales forecasts making sure that opportunities are maximized with all customers.
  • Build strategic relationships with customers, prospects, industry influencers and distributors.
  • Support pricing and contract negotiations with customers as directed by Covestro LLC.
  • Manage relationships with internal support staff (Planning & Product Supply, Management, Marketing, Technical Group, Customer Service, etc.) to ensure follow up on
  • potential issues and to build Covestro value vs. competition.
  • Generate market intelligence, monitor market trends and maintain awareness of industry issues affecting the TPU business.


Value added to the success of the company

  • Achieve revenue, volume and profitability objectives for the TPU business.
  • Develop long-term relationships with all customers for sustained market growth.
  • Increase COV market share through penetration of target accounts, new Business Development and maintaining/growing market position at existing accounts.


Work relations (most important work relationships with internal and external partners/customers)
External:

  • Direct customers and prospects - key decision makers in the engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sales/marketing, and procurement areas. Company CEOs/Senior Management are also key contacts in smaller enterprises.
  • Distributors – distributor sales force, management, technical personnel.
  • ANIQ and other associations related to the TPU business.
     

Internal:

  • Local SC&L, HSEQ, LIPC
  • Covestro LLC supervisor and colleagues
  • EP organization

Qualification Requirements (Education & Work Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree (chemistry or engineering preferred) and 7 years of technical or commercial experience in the field or industry OR Master’s degree with 5 years of technical or commercial experience in the field.
  • Able to independently develop business strategy, working with all levels/functions of personnel at customers.
  • Self-starter in Business Development who excels at understanding customer needs.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of polyurethane and/or plastics industry.
  • Preferred: Knowledge and/or experience in key markets such as automotive, healthcare, industrial, footwear
