Organization Overview: 

Prevail Therapeutics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is focused on developing novel gene therapies for Parkinson’s disease and other genetically defined neurodegenerative diseases. Prevail is based in New York city at the Alexandria Center for Life Sciences

Position Description:

The Scientist/Principal Scientist, Analytical Development will be responsible for the routine testing and assist with the establishment of new methods for characterization of AAV in novel targets for neurodegenerative disorders. The Scientist will interact with other departments and coordinate efforts across departments as well as lead analytical projects. The ideal candidate will have a track record of molecular biology and developing assays. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for release testing using ddPCR, ELISA/MSD, and setting up cell-based assays
  • Analytical Development Lead for projects
  • Lead method development in analytical assays
  • Routine lab maintenance of aliquoting, cell culture maintenance
  • Generate SOP and CoT/CoA documents

Basic Requirements: 

  • Bachelors/Masters in Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline
  • 6+ years of work experience, either academic or in industry

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Must be proficient in cell culture, PCR, ELISA
  • Preferred experience in flow cytometry assay development
  • Preferred experience in imaging
  • Previous experience in Analytical Development with hands-on experience with analytical instruments
  • Demonstrated proficiency and ability to deliver goals
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of ICH and other industry guidelines supporting method development, qualification.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills; adaptive learning, critical thinking, and the ability to work well in a team

  • Position Location: NYC, Prevail Therapeutics a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly.
  • Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $69,000 to $179,300and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
