About you and this role

We are looking for a Senior Benefits Specialist, within HR Solutions (HRS), to be based in Terneuzen (The Netherlands)

The HRS organization is responsible for the design and delivery of innovative solutions to all employees and leaders in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI). HRS roles contain deep subject-matter expertise to consult on programs, processes and people. The top priority of HRS is to deliver the best Employee Experience through exceptional delivery of a portfolio of solutions. Dow’s HR Solutions in The Netherlands has over 140 HRS colleagues from more than 20 different nationalities.

As a Benefits Specialist and being part of a EMEAI Total Rewards team, you enable a best-in-class employee experience through exceptional service delivery and subject matter consultation for Benefits. This includes the management, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions specific to Benefits. This role is also the second level of support to provide specialist expertise to triage and escalate cases.

This Benefits position is responsible for the management of Benefit plans specifically for Spain and Italy  and is responsible to drive the innovation, execution of agreed service levels, and achieve operational excellence in the area of Benefits. Additionally, this role requires the ability to think strategically, while consulting with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Having strong project and change management skills will be critical to the success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for implementation, management and coordination of specific benefits en pension programs, typically on a regional level.
  • You give second level of support to provide specialist expertise to triage and escalate cases.
  • You manage, own and have full accountability for the data to and from the (pension) providers/authorities.
  • You coordinate benefits and pension reporting.
  • You participate in Global / EMEAI Benefits projects.
  • You develop and maintain (compliance of) documentation of operating policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • You ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors
  • You process information with confidentiality and with a high level of accuracy.
  • You perform activities according to the Dow internal control & compliance framework including internal and external audits in line with SOX controls.
  • You continuously improve processes to reduce cost and improve customer service.
  • You interface with external vendors, pension funds, insured benefit brokers, audit partners, Independent Financial Advisers, as well as internally within the HR organization.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's or master’s degree in HR, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related area.
  • You have 5+ years of Total Rewards experience, or HR / Finance related experience.
  • Knowledge of social security system, pension and insured benefits in Spain/Italy.
  • Ability to effectively work through other people and be collaborative, cross-functional and diplomatic.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work with a sense of urgency in a highly dynamic environment.
  • You are fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
  • You have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Power applications.
  • Excellent planning & organization skills.
  • Strong analytical, innovative and problem solving skills.
  • You work independently, and you are self-motivated and accountable.

Additional Notes

  • For this position there is relocation support available within Europe.
  • Our Design Your Day model allows for flexible (hybrid) work opportunities within the Netherlands as per agreement between employee and leader.
