THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Infectious Disease Rapid Diagnostics Division is looking for a strong Senior Product Marketing Manager, ID NOW and Connectivityto join our US Commercial Marketing team based out of our location on site in our Lake Forest, Illinois office. The scope of this position includes ID NOW respiratory portfolio and menu expansion along with Connectivity Solutions including POC Link.  This marketing position will support the products in both existing and new customer types ranging from the traditional healthcare settings (Hospital, POL, Urgent Care) to non-traditional markets such as Retail Health and Independent Pharmacies.    

The position will have two (2) direct reports to support the various product lines, launches and initiatives within the Marketing team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

On-Market Product Marketing Strategy

  • Lead marketing efforts for assigned product responsibilities working closely with a cross functional team including Global Marketing, Distribution/Corporate Accounts, Finance, Pricing, Market Access and Sales Leadership.

  • Support development of strategic long-range and annual marketing plans, establishing strategies and tactics to promote products in each target market segment.

  • Analyze market segment opportunities and support development of strategies to penetrate those markets including the creation of compelling US messaging, competitive positioning, most desirable product attributes and trade-offs, and pricing.

  • Develop impactful promotion offerings for key customers, including Distributor Representatives and End-User Customers, to drive appropriate preparedness for respiratory season.

  • Work closely with finance and S&OP process to ensure market dynamics and demand trends are captured in monthly demand.  Coordinate allocation messaging with S&OP commercial lead.

  • Position Abbott’s market leading products across the continuum of Respiratory products with key customers.  Campaigns and messaging to be targeted to the end-user customers, distributors, and US Infectious Disease field organization.

  • Conduct market research needed to inform US commercial strategies in collaboration with Infectious Disease Global Market Insights team.

  • In close collaboration with the Marketing Access and Pricing teams, structure a pricing approach to maximize customer value by customer type.

  • Engage outside agencies, along with Scientific/Medical Affairs and Medical Education teams, to develop clear and compelling messaging by customer type and segment.

  • Establish strong relationships with commercial leadership to leverage insights and to help drive product acceptance by customers.

On-Market Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the molecular Respiratory Products (Abbott and Competitors) and develop commercial approaches to reach the varied customer segments.

  • Engage sales training team to develop impactful, comprehensive, and ongoing training programs providing product, customer, and market insights to accelerate product adoption and utilization. 

  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the Respiratory Products market that will help to further establish the ID NOW POC platform in this market space with a rapid pace of adoption.

  • Engage with the product development team and global marketing team to help inform product characteristics desired by targeted customer types.

  • Review healthcare and competitive landscapes to ensure our commercial organizations are kept up to date on changing marketplace dynamics.

  • Track and complete projects on time.

  • Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies.

  • Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.

  • Understand the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job. Has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Biological Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of Product Marketing experience required, with strong strategic market and data analysis skills

  • 3+ years of diagnostics experience required. Infectious disease and commercial experience highly desired.

  • 3+ years of manage multiple tasks and projects with success in promoting products.

  • Creative and innovative skills with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, endurance, and a can-do attitude.

  • At least 3+ years of experience with Excel and Salesforce.com.

  • Proficient understanding of the applicable industry regulations and quality management systems including product labeling and claims.

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects at a time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA with a Marketing emphasis preferred.

  • Power BI experience desired.

  • Experience in infectious disease, Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostics, and commercial is highly preferred.

  • Experience with Infectious Disease and/or Sexually Transmitted Infections products.

  • Excellent quantitative, analytic, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated success in launching new products, driving compelling value propositions.

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
