Your role as a Senior Quality Control Professional will be to review quality inspection of parts and documents provided by Fictiv’s manufacturing partners. You will bring knowledge of manufacturing quality issues and a keen eye for detail, to fulfill our promise of providing the highest quality parts to customers’ requirements.

In this role, you’ll be using your experience in mechanical hardware inspection, leveraging your manufacturing process knowledge and structured problem-solving skills, to identify issues and to contribute to the continual improvement of our manufacturing partner network. At Fictiv, we believe providing orders on time and in full to customer requirements is essential for creating and maintaining the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing, and you’ll be playing a critical role in making that happen.

The role is collaborative, with daily interaction with fellow inspectors and logistics, and customer support teams. In addition to the daily role, you will work to complete different long-term individual projects of various types, and collaborate on the development of QC-related and other processes.

You will be instrumental in giving customers the confidence that Fictiv manages the quality of parts, at least as well as, but preferably better than they do.

You will report to the Supplier Quality Engineer Lead.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Complete the quality inspection of orders using photos and inspection records provided by manufacturing partners in our proprietary software, according to the daily schedule.
  • Communicating with manufacturing partners to clarify and resolve issues identified with customer orders.
  • Communicating with the technical customer success team to obtain waiver request approval from customers as required.
  • Communicating with supplier quality engineers about inspection issues so that feedback can be provided to manufacturing partners and appropriate actions taken.
  • Ensure timely release of parts such that shipping labels and documentation can be provided to our manufacturing partners to support their on time shipment of orders.
  • Maintain inspection information in Fictiv’s systems so that traceability exists to satisfy the requirements of our customers and quality management system.
  • Contribute to the regular improvement of our workflow and development of proprietary tools.

Desired Traits:

  • Travel: Ability to travel to the local MP’s
  • Drawings: Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
  • Laboratory: Ability to use measurement equipment.
  • GDT is a plus.

Minimum academic: Technical career completed / Newly graduated from Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Experience preferred:

Minimum: 5 or more years of experience as Quality technician or similar. Knowledge in CNC, Sheet Metal, Injection molding process
Preferred: New graduate with 2 or more years of experience. Knowledge in CNC, Sheet Metal, Injection molding process

Travel:

26-50% local travel
