We thrive on new technologies and processes that allow us to deliver features faster and safer. About the role We are seeking a technically skilled and highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you'll not only contribute to creating the next generation of developer tooling and infrastructure but also play a significant role in the performance testing and tuning of new services. You'll be instrumental in improving developer velocity, scalability, and the testability of services while providing technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle. This role has been categorized as a teleworker position.
Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events. In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
Who you are Responsibilities : Support engineering teams in deploying and operating their services Improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our core systems Leverage your knowledge to build technical consensus around architecture and technology choices Performance test and tune new services, and diagnose and debug production issues Build and manage StreetEasy's cloud infrastructure, contributing to our commitment to reliability and efficiency Guide our organization through the technical implementation of DevOps practices Evangelize DevOps culture within the team and outside of StreetEasy Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce the best solutions possible Requirements : A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience 1-3 years of experience in Site Reliability engineering, DevOps, or a related field Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, Ruby, or Java Experience with cloud service providers, preferably AWS Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and other containerization technologies Experience in designing, developing, and scaling robust infrastructure Knowledge and experience working with microservices Passionate about writing clean, well-tested code Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and profiling skills The ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently Preferred Skills : Experience with performance tuning Familiarity with monitoring tools and systems Experience mentoring other developers is a plus Passion for product delivery and DevOps practices Get to know us Zillow is reimagining real estate to make it easier to unlock life’s next chapter.
