Tasks

• Creating and productizing services to make available machine learning technologies from our Research team.
• Applying software development skills, machine learning and data science knowledge to improve our machine learning and record publication capabilities to extract data from historical records.
• Helping build the future of machine learning tools and services to support the purpose of FamilySearch.
• Utilizing data science in machine learning to improve overall extraction of information from historical records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• English proficiency, minimun B2.
• Solid Java and Python programming skills
• Combination of 7 years of software development and machine learning experience.
• Hands on experience in using software development, data science and machine learning to extract structured information from historical document images. Must have utilized all three – machine learning, data science, and software development.
• Use of essential Linux data manipulation tools like sed, grep, sort, regexes, etc.
• Experience doing analysis on the results of the model processing with Splunk.
• Experience capturing data in the form of Jason files.
