Greater Caribbean Supply Chain Project Management and Planning Lead

Function:Supply Chain

Work Level: WL1D

Scope: Greater Caribbean (GC) projects

Location: Mexico City, El Salvador, or Remote

Terms & Conditions: STA (6 to 12 months)

Travel: up to 50% travel to Greater Caribbean countries, El Salvador, and Mexico may be required

Unilever International (UI) has been tasked to manage white space opportunities within Unilever with an alternate ‘Go-to-market’ model. These are small niche opportunities which the operating companies find difficult to manage due to lack of focus and sourcing complexities. The sourcing and distribution network is quite complex with 10,000+ SKUs sourced from 80+ factories and supplied to 500+ customers in 100+ countries. The business has outpaced Unilever growth for the last 5 years and closed 202
3 with €1.4bn global TO making it the fastest Unilever MCO to reach one billion.


JOB PURPOSE


We are looking for a leader with a passion to drive growth for ourGreater Caribbean (GC) New Business. UI has recently announced the takeover of the Dominican Republic exports business ($20m turnover per year) and has plans for further large growth in the region over the next 6 to 12 months. The role is responsible for leading the supply chain transition and implementation for on time, in full delivery of all projects in the GC region, from business case approval through launch and making it fully operational. This will include project management, stakeholder management, project execution, tracking, customer service, and supply planning. The Assistant Manager will also support idea and feasibility funnel building of these projects, and support as the leader of the project management organization.


They will support the Supply Chain Manager leading the critical interface between Brand, Supply/Demand Planning, Factories, Finance, Procurement, Customer Development, Customer Development Operations, and R&D to ensure the execution of the projects and guaranteeing they are moving in accord with the strategic goals of both the Business Teams and the Supply Chain.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages timelines to ensure that projects stay on time. Holds team accountable for delivering milestones.

  • Works with Brand building guaranteeing the portfolio aligned with the customers strategies.

  • Works with Logistics to validate Unilever International routes and the systems setups to guarantee the shipments and the rates are aligned.

  • Works with CD OPS to validate the transitions for each customer in the system, and we can invoice correctly with the new model.

  • Coordinates with the technical team to test and trial to mitigate risk to the go live dates.

  • Works hand to hand with the North America SC team to guarantee Allocation Capacity and transition constraints are communicated on time.

  • Creates and manages communication regarding project activity within the commercial team, the Supply Chain, and the Business Team in accordance with the Project Process.

  • Leads the development of robust contingency plans to mitigate risks outlined throughout the project.

  • Accountable for on-time in-full innovation and transition of customers to UI (OTIF)

  • Develops Projects related sourcing case studies.

  • Develops and supports the implementation of simplification and harmonization within GC Region

  • Until the projects are completed will be responsible for:

  • Execute the Customer Service Strategy

  • Execute Customer Service Operations (Order to Deliver)

  • Lead Performance Management for Respective Accounts

  • Lead supply planning operations

  • Execute Digitization agenda for Respective Accounts

Once the customers are fully operational, this process will transition to the UI customer service and supply planning teams per the transition agreements.


What You’lldeliver…

  • Timeline with actions and dates to for the success of the project

  • Launch projects based on the defined scope with quality, on time and in full (% OTIF).

  • Present a monthly report with the status of each project, including the loss tree and risks.

  • Maintain SharePoint through updating information and documents for the people involved in each project.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications


Desired
Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply chain, Engineering preferred).

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain (Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering or Logistics

  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Spanish.


Preferred

  • Project Management experience is highly desired.

  • Excellent problem-solving and detail-oriented approach.

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

  • Preferable Knowledge about digital tools: Office, MS Project SharePoint, Power BI, Salesforce, SAP.

  • Open to learn new ways of working and willing to be hands-on in using data and systems
